Since the Spectacular Spider-Man forum was taken down and the Ultimate Spider-Man cartoon thread with it, I thought we still should have a thread about it until it probably gets its own subforum proper.

Disney XD in the US is already playing this spot on TV advertising some of their new shows early next year, including Tron: Uprising and Ultimate Spider-Man. Not much new footage really but Living Laser or Electro punching at Spidey.. Forgot all about the Tron cartoon coming, looks sweet.

Coulson is my favorite and the reason I started watching it. I was really hoping for an appearance on Sunday since it was right after the Avengers came out...

However, I do like when they're being silly and utilizing the animation. The bit with Aunt May on the X-Box was brilliant.

Believe me if we could we would create a show, and guess what any spider man fan older than 12 would create something better that this garbage.

The show is getting hate because it sucks. Why do you think you didnt see this much hate for any previous marvel show? because this one is the worst and Marvel deserves the hate they are getting.

Dude I was suggesting writing fanfiction or something. There's no reason to fly off the handle.

And yeah, if you think you can do better go ahead. It's really damn difficult to write fiction of any kind, much harder than you think it is.

I saw episode 7 yesterday.
I liked it, but it could have been better.
Probably my least favourite episode so far to be honest.
Hardly any cutaways, none of the other team members in costume (that I remember anyway lol), and Hulk was a bit mindless. He could have been written better though.

I liked the Venom episode actually, so I have hopes for this to be good. I don't like Venom's normal talking voice though when he is looking up at spider man on the light pole.

That last one though when he said "I am Venom" has that good menacing growl with it, which I think he should always have when he is in full Venom mode.

I hope we don't have to deal with 'spidey has a cold' as an underlying theme of this episode cause it sounds like his nose was all stuffy when spider-man was talking.

I just finished watching the third episode "Doomed" (sort of; had to stream it and it was very poor quality, but I got the gist), and I am never watching this garbage ever again. This really is awful. I'm working on a detailed write-up later on.

I think the hate is overblown though I do think USM has some crippling flaws. At the same time, episodes six and seven weren't that bad so maybe the show is improving . . . albeit to the mediocrity Ben 10 and Generator Rex typically stayed at.

The thing I hate most about USM, and the other two MOA productions I mentioned, is that there is a total lack of foreshadowing and buildup in all three shows' events. MOA shows have their episodes start with the introduction to the situation of the episode with little-to-no buildup or foreshadowing in previous episodes which really dampens the events happening onscreen. It also has crippled characterization because there's no time to develop anybody when the episode is just rushing to get the episode's plot done and away within 20 minutes.

One thing that I noticed is the better episodes are when Spidey is solo. I think when he's around bad company (Nova) it shows the worst of him...

I don't think the hate for this show is overblown at all. The show sucks, period. And every time it looks like it's getting remotely better, they completely undo it the next week.

I still watch in hopes it will be getting better and this latest episode with venom, I have high hopes for, but this show deserves every ounce of hate it gets. And that's all I have to say about that.

Today's episode with Venom was terrible.

The only things I liked was the black suit Spidey design and Venom's design. That's it. Harry Osborn as Venom, the **** Marvel Animation? You're supposed to get your characters.

On the other side of the spectrum, the new episode of The Avengers: EMH was great. Very intense, you could feel the mistrust and anxiety building. The show is firing off all ends, one of the best show's Marvel has ever done and it has none of the people working on Ultimate Spider-Man. Go figure.

It will really be disappointing to see that series go, it was cool to see we got a new glimpse at the Spider-Man episode in the new 'what would it take' segment today. There was a shot of Spidey next to Cap and Iron Man with what I'm guessing was some kind of vortex sucking stuff in up in the sky. It'll be nice to see Spidey done well again on TV.

Yeah. It was definitely one of the worst so far, it feels like this show has no idea what it wants to be. One episode Spidey is a total moron with the team and there are unfunny gags throughout, one episode Spidey acts solo and there are no gags, one episode Spidey is a competent and smart hero and the next he is a clueless idiot.

There was a part in this episode that really made me cringe from the crudeness, Spidey sneezing through his mask and the snot hits the screen...

Welp, time for my complaints about this nonsensical episode:

*As always, the humor is idiotic and childish. Nothing is every genuinely funny or witty. Spidey's cold serves SOLELY as the source for crude gross-out gags. That's pretty much it. It also makes Drake Bell's already-grating voice even more annoying, and that, along with the stupid gags, ruin any potential pathos in a story where Harry becomes one of Spidey's greatest foes. That premise made me remotely interested in this show, and thanks to the mishandling here, it made me lose attention again.

*Speaking of that, I guessed early on that Harry would become Venom, and due to some early hints of motivation, it seemed like a storyline that would have potential. However, due to little to no buildup beyond that, his motivation is VERY blurry and inconsistent. Is he jealous of Spidey? Does he admire him? Is he trying to be a hero or does he just want his dad's attention? Or is he trying to kill his father later, and doesn't do anything with a defeated Spidey? Is he in control or is the symbiote doing all the work? It's all very schizophrenic and makes no sense.

*The Venom symbiote serving as something that grants Spider-Man powers makes NO sense. The symbiote had only possessed Flash and Nova before the fight was taken outside, so it did not absorb Spidey at any time. Also, how did Harry control it in the watch? Is this ever explained? And when the symbiote is "destroyed", did it still remain alive? Or did Doc Ock put it in him? The way they handled that scene is unclear.

*The characters are all obnoxious jerks. From Flash abandoning his Spidey fandom pretty fast, to Jonah shifting his support to Venom (again, WHY?!) to Harry's nonsensical motivation, Peter being cocky and unhelpful, and of course, the one-dimensional teammates that stupidly dismiss Peter pointing out how similar the black-suited Spidey is to Venom and antagonize him all the time, even when it's not his fault. I rooted for no one in this episode.

Overall, I'm tuning out until the Green Goblin episode, which is near the end of the season. Knowing this crew, though, they'll grab an awful idea like Ultimate Goblin and make it even worse.
