I picked this up a while ago. Remember the girl in the first movie who gets her cat stuck in a tree? When she goes indoors and tells her mom she saw a guy flying her mothers says something like "What'd I tell you about telling lies? and there's a as slap sound!
Seems grim for what's supposed to be fun scene.

Back then, slapping/spanking your kid for being "bad" was a normal occurrence. I guess today the mother would be taken away by Superman for child abuse.

Yeah kind of like the smoking thing years ago they didn't even know it was bad for you.

Eh, I guess I don't' find kids getting hit humorous. It even bothers me in A Christmas Story when the kid gets beaten over the phone for "allegedly" teaching Ralphie a swear word.
