Good news! The dragon design is still cool, but as much as they were going off about his "unique" look for the Hobbit, hopefully they don't let me down.

That fan piece looks good. I want something demonically intimidating.

Here's Smaug opening his eye from the end of the first movie:

Oops.. that's actually The Lizard from TASM.

The fan art poster is cool, but I think they're going to keep Smaug's look under wraps until after the film hits.

The only dwarf role that could have worked for Furlong is Nori, I guess.
Not too much to do, not a role that sticks out. But still easy not recognize the actor.

Is it a geek's dream to have "John Connor" in The Hobbit?

I watched Fellowship of the Ring (director's cut) last night after watching "The Hobbit" twice already, I had to refresh my memory since the last time I seen the original trilogy was when it was still in theaters. I love the references to "The Hobbit." We even see the 3 trolls who turned to stone lol.

After Frodo gets stabbed with the sword by one of the wraiths in the watch tower while using the ring, he passes out while Stryder carries him and the other hobbits follow. He wakes up briefly seeing a stone face. Sam is there and he says "Mr. Frodo? See, it's Mr. Bilbo's trolls!" trying to get him to stay awake before they start searching for the weed to help slow the poison. The camera pans out after Sam says his line and we see all 3 around the crew. Liv Tyler's character then appears and rushes him away during a chase scene to Rivendale. This was the director's cut that I seen though, I don't remember the theatrical cut.

Nah, I believe that title would be reserved for Transformers 3. Or Pirates of the Caribbean 3. Or The Phantom Menace.

^And a few others as well, Alice in Wonderland comes to mind, not to mention Titanic, and its not as if The Hobbit was a bad movie, I thought it was superb personally.

As much as I dislike the Hobbit, I dislike Titanic and Avatar more.

There's one theater near me that's still playing it in high frame rate so I'm gonna try and see it again. I've been meaning to for a while now.

Yeah, only the director's cut has the dialogue. The theatrical cut shows the party camped at the base of the trolls, but doesn't explain what they are and why "the statues" are there.
