I hope they actually make each character feel diverse. My main complaint about Lego Batman 2 was how some of the characters felt like reskins. Martian Manhunter played exactly like Superman, despite having very different powers.

Also, I really want to play as LEGO Ant Man.

With over 100 characters this won't happen. They just play lip service having so many characters, but they're not going to make each one very unique.

You mean Thing, Hulk, Colossus, Strong Guy and and Hercules will be similar in gameplay? Drat. That's totally a dealbreaker.

the complain with lego batman i agree. you only had robin who could use his hamster ball. he was the only character that could activate this particular obstacle. a shapeshifter like martian manhunter would be perfect for this task as well. he could've change into a giant ball. or green lantern could create a ball construct. GL and sinestro were the most underused characters, given their possibilities and power set.

when making this game they need to make sure they have multiple characters that can use obstacles, not just 1. or else you really don't really have a choice in your character selections. and i'm not saying everyone needs the same powers, just that alot of them have similar powers or could use their own unique power to do the same tasks. for example, any character with telekinesis should be able to manipulate the "heavy" objects that a super strength character would be needed for. so if you use the hulk to move a car, you should be able to also use jean grey to move the car as well, or storm. different powers, same result, the car gets moved.

This just instantly went up in my most anticipated games of 2013 list. I love the Lego games, though I haven't played one since Lego Batman (which happens to be my favorite). I should play Lego Batman 2 & maybe Lego Star Wars 3/Indy 2.

Sort of off-topic, but as a Deadpool fanboy it makes me really happy to see him up there with the big boys like Spidey, Wolverine & the Avengers. My little Merc is growing up. *wipes tear from eye*

Never played a lego game but from the fan reactions here I'm thinking that maybe I should. I'm a fan of all the franchises they have done. Where should I start?

If you're a fan of Star Wars, then 'Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga' is the best place to start since it's a compilation of the first two Lego SW games. Those were the two that started it all.

The LEGO games of the past few years have really grown bigger and better.

Its difficult, as so far I think the best LEGO games to date are Lego Star Wars III and Lego Batman 2. Having a big and grand scope. But Lego LOTR looks like it has alot of content as well. I consider the era of Lego games from Lego Star Wars to Lego Batman/Indiana Jones the "testing/primitive" era of Lego games. The Harry Potter games onwards really started having great stuff that made the Lego games more than "same game/different skin."

Lego Deadpool made me giggle.

Which also means I'll probably actually be able to have a Lego Deadpool toy soon. Even better.

Me too!

The bike is cool and the chopper is okay, but the figures are the highlight. I especially like Deadpool's double sheath. Shame there's no Wolverine with mask, but I guess it would end up looking like a giant helmet. His iconic hair is great though.

Excellent list. Second the approval for the MODOK choice.

Also, Galactus has been confirmed, and the behind-the-scenes trailer had Magneto and Tony Stark (without suit) as playable characters.

You should probably add the Chitauri to that list. I assume since the movie versions of the Avengers are in, they will be too.

Nah, it's cosmetically the movie avengers but it's a different timeline or universe from the MCU.
