A few articles with some interesting stuff -
Lego Marvel Super Heroes preview and interview
Quote:
...you play 20-odd characters in the level against Galactus and that’s… pretty amazing, that one.
Combat sounds like fun!
Quote:
Yeah, we’ve tried to make sure that the combat is a lot better. So you’ll see there are characters like… Elektra’s got her sais and it’s a lot more interactive. Again, for the kids it’s still very easy to do but the animation and the way it feels… you feel you’re doing something in a lot more complicated fashion. There’s a lot more special finishing moves in there as well.

And because of the big figures we’ve had to do a lot more work on the combat too. So a lot of the big figure work is actually more interactive, in term of quick time events, and a bit more dynamic. So it is somewhere we’ve pushed but to make sure we don’t go all Street Fighter on it.
Hopefully fewer bugs than some of the previous LEGO games!
Quote:
We’ve actually had a month or two longer than normal on this one. So we are trying to get this one as clean as possible
LEGO Marvel Super Heroes preview | Digital Trends

LEGO Marvel Super Heroes is filled with easter eggs like this. There are 50 “Stan in Peril” moments that amount to Stan Lee cameos in which players help the legendary comic creator out of a variety of jams. Find them all and Stan Lee unlocks as a playable character… and yes, he has every power you can imagine. Finish the game’s story and watch the full credits sequence and you’ll get another easter egg, in a playful nod to Marvel Studios’ work. Some of these easter eggs even put you in the shoes of the villains, such as one in which Magneto and Mystique face off against Mysterio over a stolen chess set. It’s not clear how you find this or what level of interaction you have with it, but it’s worth mentioning that Deadpool, voiced by Nolan North, narrates it.

GC: I think this must be the only game, except perhaps for some MMO, that actually has every single character. Is there anyone at all you weren’t able to use for legal reasons?

AP: Yes, there was one. But I can’t actually say who it is, because I’ll get shot. [laughs]
There goes Namor...

I mean do you know for sure it's Namor who isn't gonna make it in?

I read somewhere around here, or possibly outside the SHH, about his character rights for movies and gaming being elsewhere. Don't know how reliable that info was, or if the issue really affects this game, but I read that bit and the first character that came to mind was Namor. He's barely in any Marvel games, last time was on M:UA and he was just an NPC.

AP: Yeah, it isn’t the point. It’s… we actually started off with a 100 characters and we just kept it tight, but Marvel, Lego, and ourselves just kept adding character after character and it kept getting bigger and bigger. We wanted the game to be current in 12 months times, so we put characters in there from Captain America 2 and Thor 2, or whatever it might be. And it kind of just ballooned a little bit.

Crossbones and winter soldier perhaps?

GC: I always enjoy Lego games, but the one intractable problem is that the combat is so simplistic. Obviously you have to make it fun for kids but… [notices a Lego-built planet wander into frame on the title screen] Oh, that’s Whatshisface the Living Planet!

Ego confirmed

They did go with Arnim Zola, so those two are shoe-ins.

I hope they also went with new characters introduced in Avengers 2... Ultron and the Maximoffs are a must!

Also... This article mentions teleport as an ability in the game, which LEGO Stan Lee has, and I believe is our biggest hint so far at Nightcrawler!

We're up to 8 DLC characters right now, and I bet 2 more will be announced somewhere for a grand total of 10 like in other LEGO games.

Man Winter Soldier looks great! Not a fan of Hawkeye but I do love his classic costume.

Ok
So who's the replacement for underwater tokens and stuff? That was the time I use Aquaman in LEGO Batman 2

We have seen nothing to indicate that will still be in. Very few LEGO games have had underwater walkers, in fact I can only recall the Batman ones.

Universal owns the rights to Namor in film & I guess games. I don't even know how they still own the rights, they haven't done jack with him & they probably can't. Namor without other Marvel characters to be a dick to would be boring.

I guess the flame-snuffers this time around will be Iceman and maybe the Frost Giants too.
