Default Most Iconic Score for a CBM.....

Which, in everyone's opinion is the definitive or best themes/scores to a CBM ?

Here is Watch.Mojo's list to help 'guide us'....

Agree with many of their choices are to me, some are a bit off by being in a top 10 countdown.

Williams' Superman and Elfman's Batman

nothing else comes to mind really. Those are the 2 big ones. Maybe Silvestri's Avengers theme.

I think Zimmer played a blinder with this...

John Williams on Superman is the gold standard.

1. John Williams' Superman. Period.
2. Danny Elfman's Batman/Batman Returns scores.
3. Hans Zimmer's scores for The Dark Knight Trilogy.
4. Danny Elfman's scores for Spider-Man and Spider-Man 2.
5. Hans Zimmer's Man of Steel score.
6. Henry Jackman's wildly underrated Kick-Ass score.
7. James Horner's The Rocketeer score.
8. Henry Jackman's X-Men: First Class score.
9. The V for Vendetta score is actually pretty epic.
10. John Ottoman's X-Men: Days of Future Past score is also fairly underrated.

I will stop there.

If we're just doing one (and actually sticking to ICONIC, and not just which ones we personally like the best), it's Williams Superman. And no close competitors, even Elfmen's and Zimmer's Batman stuff (as much as I love each of them).

EDIT: Actually, scratch that-- the 60's Batman theme is up with Williams Superman, too, or there about.

This. Holy trinity - Williams, Elfman and Zimmer.

The score for the original is a complete work of pure genius.

If we're talking iconic, which is very different from just being good or my favorite, then the answer is obviously John Wiliams' Superman. That's the only superhero film score that I would call iconic.
