I'd like that. Then the third film could be called Ultimate Spider-Man.

The title is rumored to be The Spectacular Spider-Man?

Man...I was hoping Webb's will just be The Amazing Spider-Man trilogy and we could get a reboot called The Spectacular Spider-Man that would feel like the series.

Was his back an issue for S-M 2 then because he obviously wasn't in the same shape as he was even in the '02 film.

Yeah,Apart from Hugh Jackman, dont think any other guy bulked up/stayed the same in the sequel

This is the highest level of awesomeness I've ever seen on these boards! Lucky you! You don't look the slightest nervous in this pic!

Yes. In fact, Peter Parker was almost recast because of his back issue in Spider-Man 2. I think Jake Gyllenhaal was being considered for the role.

Quote:
He also had to weather the storm for "Spiderman 2" when its lead actor, Tobey Maguire, almost lost the role to due a back injury. While in LA at the Sony lot to promote the film, Sam spoke about his passion for the Spiderman franchise as well as almost choosing actor Jake Gyllenhaal to take over the role.

I hope it's The Amazing Spider-Man 2. Maybe a subtitle? But I don't want it to bee TSSM or anything like that.

Makes me think that I should stop talking about Maguire's shape in the sequels if he really couldn't do anything.

It's understandable that he couldn't whip himself back into great shape for SM2 maybe, but there's no excuse for his pudgy physique in SM3.

After his back injury, there were no reports of the injury being chronic or continued pain. In fact, it wasn't that serious of an injury at all. Blake from Workaholics literally broke his back, had surgery, recovered in a few months and is still working and in great shape. Blake also doesn't receive millions upon millions of $$$ for his role. Not the best of examples, but the first thing that came to mind.

It won't be. Even the press release confirming Dane, Jamie, and Shailene avoided calling it that.

Also, before anyone here links to that Oscorp Facebook page some guy on CBM posted, know it's a fake. It was created a couple days after ASM came out, and used a picture of Norman's silhouette from a bootleg copy of the movie for it's cover. It's just a fan page.

"No excuse" might be too strong. Take it from me - back injuries can last awhile, and easily return if you aren't careful.

Yeah that's 'cause TASM was more of a movie of him becoming spider-man, like barely. Very "pre spider-man" if you will.

i like the sound of that and when Capt. Stacy says to him "This city needs you" he tecnically gave him his blessing to protect the city

but please i ask for two things in TASM 2(script)
1.-make the villain better
2.-do crime fighting (with jokes included)

I actually watched Spider-Man last night, the first time in about a year and a half too

It's still an incredible film, huh?
