The character has a slight build, a Witcher's sword, ashen hair and they are covering up her face. We know she has ties to the Wild Hunt. I am 99% sure that is her. If it isn't, they are simply being complete jerks. The only logical reason to cover up the face is if it is Ciri.

Apparently this will be the last Witcher game from the studio.

Have you not played the games? It is the spectral form of elves from another "World" that is responsible for badness in the Witcher world. At some point they caught Geralt and Yennefer. They are responsible for Geralt's amnesia.

Speculation is that there ultimate goal is to find Ciri.

I'm normally the biggest pusher of developing and keeping (only) the very best franchises going strongly into perpetuity. But I'm also confident that CD Project Red have the potential talent to emulate a Rockstar & whatever they come up with will be of equivalent quality to The Witcher. So they'll soon have a good number of strong properties in their stable rather than numerous games from just a couple of franchises. So at least we shouldn't lose out overall.

Iv played the Witcher 2, but don't remember anything about the wild hunt.

Witcher 3 may not be final Witcher game

Yesterday, CD Projekt Red studio manager Adam Badowski said The Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt would be the final entry in the series. He said, "People may ask if this is really going to be the last Witcher game. Yes, it is." As it turns out, what Badowski meant was The Witcher 3 would be the final game in the trilogy, but not necessarily the last game in the universe overall.

Them calling it the Wild Hunt seems just. I don't think the Wild Hunt was mentioned by name in any of the novels I've read (The Last Wish, and Blood of Elves), but the way they talked it up in Witcher 2, it sounds like a crazy thing to see unfold. It'd be nice to see Ciri. And if Yennifer is going to be as big a part of the story as they seemed to indicate in Witcher 2, bringing Ciri into the fold with her connection to Geralt and Yennifer sounds like a great storyline to pursue.

And yeah Pat, I highly recommend the novels. Like the games, the best pitch I can make is basically saying if you like Game of Thrones then you'll dig it. It's hard edge fantasy. People curse, there's nudity, people get laid, there's politics being played behind the scenes. They're so good, that I think I might wind up looking up the fan translation because they're too long to release the novels officially. 'Time of Contempt' has been delayed like two years already.

Reading the stories, and playing the games, it seems crazy to me that CDPR would go cold turkey with Gearlt. I know they said that they will continue the franchise after Wild Hunt, and them ending the trilogy makes sense, but I can't see them not making another Gearlt centered game. They're too good at it. They know Geralt way too well, to have this be his final tale. I am very impressed with how they managed to craft a game with the different decisions that you as Gearlt can make, and still have every choice you make seem appropriate to Geralt as a character from the books. That might say more about how good a character Geralt is, but CDPR is still showing good storytelling skills with him.

Also...a Witcher game...that's open world like Skyrim? That's the greatest ****ing thing I could have hoped for.

ahh..Witcher. The one game that I literally tried to force myself to like...Everything about it seemed so good...but I just couldn't get past the horrible, immature dialogue. :/
I guess i'm just not easily amused with boobs and cussing anymore...

Did you play the Witcher 2? The dialogue is in no way immature. Well outside the cheesy sex scenes.

All the last gen games were HD, so i dont think they'll really be needed.

Unless they do HD upgrades of the HD upgrades we've already got.

Then we'll know the end is nigh...

How can you import a save if you are playing Witcher 3 on console? Guess they mean for PC.

Everything sounds awesome tho. So stoked

Here's the bullet list of new info

Quote:
- The world has 36 final states three possible epilogues (each one hour long)
- You can import your save game to determine which characters appear and how they act towards Geralt, but the backstory won't be affected.
- You can buy horses or tame a wild ones by using Axii, one of The Witcher's spells.
- Geralt can now jump and climb things.
- You can hunt wild animals for their fur, claws and so forth by tracking down colour-coded traces in the world itself.
- The main storyline is 50 hours long.
- Towns are more reactive - citizens will summon the guards if they catch you thieving, and will observe daily routines.
- There's a new combat mechanic that's comparable to VATS in Fallout 3, letting you target different parts of your quarry in slow motion.
- There are no more QTEs. Hurrah!
- Geralt can level up to 60.
- The console versions have their own, bespoke UIs.
- You gain experience points only by completing quests, but hunting will earn you money and crafting materials.
- There are two new minigames: axe-throwing and cards.
- The economy is affected by your actions. Trade away loads of one type of good in a particular area, and prices will fall.
- There's a day-night cycle, as before, plus a new weather system that partly determines which areas can be accessed and where/when monsters appear.
- You can set things on fire using the Ignii spell, now a jet of flame rather than a single blast, and toy with the environment in other, unspecified ways.
- You can ride around in boats.
- Geralt will get to explore the world's capital Novigrad, the Skellige Islands, and "the war-ravaged wasteland".
