Well...I agree with both of you. I rewatch them all the time, but when I get to the end of X2 I get so angry and frustrated haha.

A bad film can never destroy a good film for me.

Sounds good to me. Why retcon without explanation when you can just fix everything as part of a plot line? Glad hes taking everything into account, no matter how much I hate Origins. Good choice Singer.

Wouldn't it be funny if DoFP makes X3 tolerable to watch?

Man, Origins just seriously messed everything up. But especially...

1) Screwing up Scott's introduction. That whole thing with the teen mutant prisoners just mucked up everything. And then to add an additional EFF you, they shoehorn in an amazing character like Emma for a throwaway part. Xavier rescuing a broken-down Scott from an orphanage (and not a young mutant leading an escape from imprisonment) and taking on a father figure role is like the biggest part of Scott's character.

2) Making Gambit a contemporary of Logan and ruining him for any future movies. However, I love Taylor Kitsch and he would have been a good Gambit in another movie.

For these reasons (and many others), I would be totally fine... no, ecstatic if Origins were completely wiped out from existence.

Schumacher's films were kinda stand alone from Burton's. They had Alfred but they didn't continue any actual plot lines. You can't watch Jean in Xmen2 without thinking "welp, she kills cyclops and stands around for a whole movie after this."

I wish. Avengers made Ironman 2 a better watch.

Has it? I own it but have watched it maybe twice because I don't like it at all. But I haven't watched it post Avengers. Perhaps I should give it a go...

The Last Stand gets way to much hate. It is not as bad as people make it to be.

I don't think its as bad as most people make it out to be. Theres some slow parts in the middle but it does a good job establishing the larger MCU. Justin Hammer is great and I love Tony's scenes with Pepper. Basically I watch it as just a one-off in Tony's many adventures. Not the huge letdown of a finale that X3 was.

I dunno... I used to defend it, but I tried to watch it recently and it's pretty awful. Not Origins bad but still really, really bad.

I'm so unbelievably tired of hyperbole over how "bad" THE LAST STAND was. It was a movie that had a lot to like about it, and yes, it had some flaws, and there are things that, as an X-Men fan, I wish had not happened. Even with its flaws, its an entertaining film, and pretty damn well made for the issues the production was facing at the time. I'm thrilled Singer is returning to the franchise and very excited about the potential of DAYS OF FUTURE PAST, but people act like THE LAST STAND was some insurmountable failure of an entry in the franchise, and that's just not the case.

Yeah, Its nowhere near as bad as origins for an overall film. If they didnt kill off characters the hate wouldnt have been as strong. It aint great and has parts that piss me off but there are some enjoyable moments.

It did have some nice moments, like Beast, Kitty, and the soundtrack.

It is not hyperbole. To me, just everything is bad. I'm not saying it's Transformers bad, but I'd disagree with all the things you think are positive. It was really bad when compared to Singer's movies. That's what I'm trying to say.

I didn't find it entertaining... I found it draining. I actually recall how excited I was when I got to the theater, and I kid you not when I say that about three quarters in I was actually hoping it would end soon so that it didn't get any worse. It was definitely NOT well-made, just decent.

For people who know the source material it was a terrible movie, for others it was okay, I guess, but as a follow up to X2, yeah it was pretty bad.
