So I was at Walmart earlier toady and I saw a pre order for the Skyfal in the blu ray section. I've seen this with other upcoming movie releases too. I read on the box that you can watch the movie earler than release day online and there is a code for either a Casino Royale or Quantum of Solace download. Then they'll ship you the blu ray/dvd on release date.

Can someone tell me what any other benefits are of buying this pre order? I've just never noticed them until recently and am not too familiar with them.

I don't see anything from walmart's pre-order. I already have both on DVD/Bluray. Lol

Anyone heard of special bonuses from Best Buy or Target?

This was physically in walmart in an empty blu ray case in the electronics/movie section. For sale for something like $18.99.

Lol, me too. That's why I was curious if there were any secret incentives that I didn't know about. I guess not.

VODKA martini's ARE shaken to remain the coldness of the drink which is how Bond has them. Cold.

A good barman will make you a drink however you want it. The idea that there is a right and wrong about diluting spirits with adulterated cheap wine is absurd.

I'm eager to find out as well, I'm assuming we'll know by next week. I'm just eager to get whatever special extras I can get and add Skyfall to Complete Bond box set collection.

SF is now at $1,093,544,126 so far. We've beaten the pointy-eared, cave dwelling detective!

Well, Mendes said his return depended on the success of Skyfall. The audience has spoken loud and clear. It's my hope he returns with Newman. They proved to be a great pair. Craig apparently wants Adele again too, so the band would really be back together.

Daniel Craig had the first true sequel Bond, the first billion dollar Bond, and now he will have the first back to back director. Well done.

I might be missing the obvious but what do you mean by 'true sequel Bond'? Unless you're referring to CR and QoS.

Yeah Im referring to CR and QOS, and by true sequel I mean in every sense of the word. Direct continuation from the last films plot.

Not exactly true. From Russia With Love continued off of plot threads from Dr. No.

Exactly. And I'd even argue that DAF was a direct sequel to OHMSS, recasting aside. Though I wouldn't be arguing that TOO much.

I think Marvolo's saying that Craig finally has his first back-to-back director, not Bond.

Yep. Sylvia Trench mentions Bond went off to Jamaica and Kronsteen mentions Doctor No by name. In Goldfinger Bond tells Tilly 'Soames' Masterson he had a case just like hers, meaning the FRWL attache case.

I should add that wasn't the case when it was made though. It's loosely considered to be one now, but DAF was originally a just a sequel to You Only Live Twice as EON briefly tried to distance themselves from OHMSS after it only made half of what YOLT (which is why Tracy nor the events of OHMSS aren't even hinted at except the first few scenes of the move in which it is very loosely referrenced) and what happened with Lazenby.

Then by the time the mid-70s came, the negative attitude about OHMSS cooled down and EON finally started to realize that maybe OHMSS wasn't as big a disaster as originally though.

Specifically, Kronsteen comes up with his plot to get revenge on Bond and MI6 for the events of Dr. No. FRWL is every bit the sequel that QoS is. It follows directly after the previous movie, and the entire plot wouldn't have occurred without Dr. No happening first.

Also, later on in Goldfinger Bond requests his briefcase while on Pussy's plane and is told that it was destroyed while they were searching it after Bond was captured.

I think FYEO works better as a sequel for OHMSS than DAF does, at least thematically. It starts with Bond getting his revenge on Blofeld, and the bulk of the rest of the film consists of Bond trying to prevent Melina Havelock from going down the same path after her loved ones are gunned down in similar fashion.

The Spy Who Loved Me also would have also worked better, especially considering who the original villain was supposed to be.
