Eh, I hope the trailer comes out sooner than April. I need to see an action/fight scene before April. Maybe Fast 6's awesome trailer pumped me up but I want to see a glimpse of a Super battle before April. I still think this campaign has bern lackluster and that the studio has been treating the film like it's. a sequel to something. Better hope it doesn't bite them in the behind come June.

It's just odd they aren't promoting the villian more, they have a famous villian and they just keep showing us some damn head shots. Trek is doing nothing but promoting it's famous villian (Lets be real, Cumberbatch is playing Khan more likely than not) and making him look creepy and cool and all we get are headshots.

Yeah I'm *****ing again and I know that. some. people hate it but I just feel like Warners are dropping the ball and I'm going to keep saying something about it until they get it together.

Last minute marketing never works.

Does that mean March isn't a shirt month? Can I at least wear a jacket?

April is hardly late, don't forget in between there's going to be magazines, posters etc

Look at Inception that wasn't promoted too far in advance and that was a huge hit.

Worst case is that this film is acclaimed by superman fans and critics but doesn't do that hot at the BO.
Because there is no way this film will suck, I just know this film is going to be good, call it a gut feeling.
The only bad thing that can happen is it not doing that well at the BO. Based on the production budget, it has to make at the very least 500-550 million.
I am kinda scared, because personally, and you can disagree with me if you want, i just am not impressed with this marketing of the film.

Different films do different things. The marketing for Begins vs TDK, when it comes to villains was pretty different. Maybe do the villain themselves or even the reboot factor. That being said I tend to agree that WB is making some pretty odd decisions.

Hows about they start selling the hero. By that I mean in costume speaking in real time. Every other film does this.

They are doing a great job with tone but, it's not really the type of tangible tone the GA can wrap their heads around. For example what is it going to be like when Lois is in the daily planet speaking with Perry? The tone of the trailers isn't really going there. Just seems like an interesting way to go about things. Perhaps the next trailer will shed some light. In hindsight this is pretty much the Begins campaign minus a superbowl spot but with some more focus on the adolescent period.

Sadly, that june release didn't make all that much money, especially when compared to the likes of IronMan.

I just get the feeling that they are trying to spend the least amount of $ they can on marketing.
Why do I also feel that WB is hugely relying on this film to sell because of Nolan's name ?

Sounds that way, but for all we know the marketing could go into overdrive come April.

I'm not worried. WB is going to market the **** out of this film when the time is right. Slow burn instead blowing your wad in promo material early leaving nothing for the home stretch.

I too think that the film is going to be good and to be fair it's not going to hurt me if the movie disappoints at the box office but I'm the type who likes to see good films do well at the box office. I mean it encourages the studios to make better films. The marketing so far is disappointing and until they turn it around I'm going to bring up that fact.

I see some responses say that WB are going to start their big marketing campaign in April and probaby release something in March, sorry but I'm not holding my breath. I've seen only one new non trailer related photo and that's the Lois Lane one. I appreciate that photo but where are the photos of the villians? How about a shot of Krypton? I don't get the blind faith that Warners is going to start pushing the movie hard in April? I wouldn't be surprised if they waited until May to start really pushing the film. Hope you guys are right though.

Green Lantern being the worst example of a slow to fast burn in marketing...so many tv spots.

Hopefully MoS has a more consistent burn.

But it would still use the Comic-Con audio, right? Which is different from the trailer audio...

Yes and GL had a pretty decent opening weekend and that's all I see MOS having right now. Ofcourse bigger because of Supes being an A-lister.

Exactly.

Bootleg material as a whole (video, audio, pictures, etc.) is a huge "NO! NO!"

it will hurt me. if its good OK fantastic. a fan got a good movie. but its Zod. its Zoooooooooooood again

i need something different. and thats why i can not accept risking it all with a simple marketing plan.

some here think that the marketing is fine because they think that the movie will make money because the movie is good.'' i think the movie is good so it doesnt matter if WB didnt realese a superbowl spot.'' some just belive that its Superman. its the same like in 2006. i was here on SHH. i remember. and now 7 years later i will get Zod and Ursa.

where is my Braniac? ''he would be to expensive because of the CGI''. ZOD WILL HAVE A 100% CGI SUIT. GRRRRR
