I think they've toned the realism down a slight touch.

They added the skydiving element in TBOGT, when they said before it wouldn't work in the new setting.

That shot of the T-storm behind the Santa Monica pier *has* to be concept art. It *has* to be. Either that, or it's a shot from a next-gen console, or top of the line PC. None of these can be from the 360 or PS3.

I don't think so. But maybe that's the reason for the delay?

I was always thought it was pretty much accepted that any/all multiplatform gameplay shots from developers were always taken from a PC on the games highest settings.

I believe I read a report where Take-Two said on a conference call that it was not going to be a Next-Gen game, only on current gen systems.

Won't it still be playable on the next-gen consoles anyway? If the game is only built for current consoles, surely the PS4 and whatever the new Xbox is called will support their back catalog. Even if it turns out like the PS3 and 360 where you can only play most games from the previous consoles, I can't imagine later releases like GTA V will be among the few unplayable ones on the next generation.

Only way to play PS 1-3 games on PS4 is to stream it through cloud or download them on PSN But no physical disc backwards compatibility.

the PS4 will eventually carry PS3 games via download. much like many PS1 & PS2 games are available to download on the PS3.

either way, i don't plan on picking up a PS4 right away. i'll probably wait about a year until i get it. that way it goes down in price, more games are available, and whatever bugs that are normally present when systems are launched are fixed.

Ahh, I see.

On that same note, a friend sent me this:

Could be fake of course. Rockstar don't cross me as the type of developers to lie, and as I understand it there has been no confirmed release for GTA V on PC yet. It'll happen, no doubt. Anyway, personally it doesn't matter to me all that much. Whether the shots are directly from consoles or they used satanic magic to make them look good, the game looks freakin' amazing.

Eh from what i've heard that's industry speak for pc's set to match the settings you'd get on a console.

Wouldn't that then be an accurate depiction of how the game will look on console?

I'm heard mixed things about that. I can't remember what game it was but a little while back there was a game and people were raving about it's graphics and how it had to be on pc it looked too good for PS3 and after denying it for a long time the devs admitted it was pc run "but to console specs".

I think pc running it on console specs still gives them a little bit of extra sheen i suppose?

To an extent. I mean its certainly gonna be more polished and refined here in these screen shots than the final thing u see on ur TV.

That's cool. Who can blame them, right? I mean, McDonald's basically show you what your burger *could* look like

I'll be honest though, GTA V could look like GTA III, and I'd still play the hell out of it. Video games are like, 99% gameplay and 1% graphics as far as I'm concerned.

Graphics and detail are important to me nowadays. It half makes the game obviously.

But I still go back to almost bare and lifeless streets surrounded by unimaginative boxes of Spider-Man 2 and play the hell out of it lol

I think people would be more willing to look past graphics if everything else is worth it. Just look at the whole Windwaker debate. Everyone hated the cartoony art style, but after they played it, no one cared as much because it was a great game.

But I will say, great graphics have really made me enjoy games that weren't so great more, and I really love the HD remakes of older games because I don't think I would go back to play older games with last-gen graphics.

I remember so many people being pissed off at Wind Waker, it was crazy and it wasn't just internet anger either.
