the thing I'm most interested in is if Sony will continue the free online/multiplayer feature as well as an improved browser experience.

Same here. Was it at the first E3 reveal that they did the Alfred Molina/Doc Ock demo? I can see them doing something similar to show how powerful the system could be.

Ok, I TOTALLY saw this in a commercial on TV the other day. I think it was a Comcast ad. It had different shots of a family using digital devices (all Sony made), and one shot had a kid playing a video game. It was a blink-and-miss it shot, but the controller caught my eye because the top of it was totally flat with no PS, Pause and Select buttons.

Not really. Tech gadgets are released at high prices all the time. Just because gamers are whiny brats doesn't make a difference.

Exactly. Not to mention, the target audiences are different. Gamers will get a console where as the average, general consumer would get an iPad.

Though it also depends on just how much the new console will do. I know part of the reason why PS3s were so pricey were because they included Blu-Ray, which was a cheaper alternative for people who wanted a Blu-ray player.

Plenty of gamers have ipads and iphones as well. So they would $500 for those things, but not for a new console? Sounds like an entitlement issue then.
