Indeed. TAS-M, if it had to be nominated, should've been for sci-fi, not fantasy.

I have my doubts about whether he'll end up playing a comic-book character at all, to be honest.

Really annoyed by this bull **** implication that Sam's only saying he liked it because of publicity concerns.

There is the possibility that he really did like it, you know. But the haters can't accept that for some reason so they have to get all cynical and act like he's just pretending he liked it so he won't burn any bridges.

Honestly I don't care what he thinks of it. He's out, gone, kaput. And I'm really happy about that.

There isn't any implication except for one question by me as a suggestion that any director wouldn't say a new reboot sucks. And yet it got taken way out of line as things usually do in the forums.

Oh well, I guess people need to talk about everything with a telescope in hand.

Eh, it's not that far out of hand. Whiskey came off a bit more abrasive then he needed to, but don't act like he doesn't have a point.

Now, I do agree with you, I don't think many directors would publicly rip a movie if they didn't like it, but Sam's very positive praise seems to indicate that he really enjoyed it. Had he not enjoyed it, I don't think he would have came out and said "I thought it sucked," but would have most likely had a much less enthusastically positive response. Something similar to "I thought Webb had an new take on the character that was very interesting," or something along those lines.

Agreed, he's a classy guy, he wouldn't have come out and said ah it sucked. But he didn't, he said he loved it. Thus I believe the man really did and why wouldn't he, its a brilliant movie.

Sam's wife really loved it, and it sounds like he feels the same. Glad he is happy with Webb's film.

Franco on the other hand... he sounds so cocky. "Its good for them I guess."

Speaking his mind isn't being cocky. And it's the truth, isn't it? They didn't have to re-do the origin, they didn't have to start in high school. I don't blame Franco for saying something that many, like myself, have always thought.

he acted well in Oz, but the movie it self was pretty sub-par.

and Mila Kuniz was incredibly cringe worthy.

I agree. It's a pretty bad movie, and I also thought he was miscast.

It's one thing to speak your mind and share an opinion, but he really sounds like a jerk. Based on what he said, it feels like he does not one ounce of humility.

It's not the "truth." It's an opinion.

I finally got to see Oz last week and I thought he did a great job as well in the flick.

That's in no way Franco's fault, though. Same thing with Spider-Man 3: he was great as Harry once more, but the film was awful.

He didn't sound like a jerk at all. I felt he was accurate and I have the same feelings about TAS-M.

I also want to bring up...how could some view him not to sound like a jerk when he was trying to be honest and say that? To say something that would upset a certain fanbase, how could he not seem like a jerk to them? Would they prefer him to just lie? Lol.

Its just the way he said it, that's all. Even some pals of mine that dislike Amazing Spider-Man thought he was too cocky.

"I guess its good for them."
