I don't either. Because they weren't there. They never have been. And that's because the people who lined up outside Chick-fil-A to support Dan Cathy don't really love free speech. They loved what Dan Cathy said.
Except that it wasn't actually Dan Cathy's words that were being protested. It was his actions.

I did, and there were many just like me...I bought chicken that day, I slammed the organizations (or actually the one woman in the organization) that were wanting to boycott JC Penneys on my Facebook, and Starbucks got my business, and still does today.

It's hardly genius when he's absolutely right that it's a McCarthy-esque witch hunt. These groups have the right to be bigots, but it's wrong to be calling for the harm of a person whose lifestyle disagrees with you. It's fact to compare it to the 1950's Red Scare.

Not only that, but hiring DeGeneres is hardly an avocation of homosexuality and using it as propaganda onto society. They're just hiring a woman (who just happens to be gay) who appeals to millions of women through her successful talk show. And guess who JCPenny's consumer base primarily is? WOMEN! It's not like they're using DeGeneres to promote gay marriage or anything, they're using her to promote their business. That's it! The sheer idiocy of the One Million Moms just absolutely blows my mind.

That is an embarrassment to Catholics. Benedict is far too outdated and old fashioned and is holding the Church back, IMO. A lot of people feel like the Conclave intentionally selected a very old fashioned and conservative pope in Benedict to follow up the more liberal John Paul II and to bridge the gap between John Paul and the man whom many consider to be the heir apparent of Benedict Cardinal Arinze who is even more liberal than John Paul. I'm not saying that he will come out in support of gay marriage or anything, but I do not think that he would do something like that.

Thought I'd throw my two cents in as a white conservative southern Christian male, as I know I am fiercely in the minority on this...

I believe, at the core of it, that homosexuality is wrong. In 1 Corinthians it is directly stated that it is a sin. That is what I believe, and no amount of arguing or debating will change my mind so please save us all the time and don't even try.
But...
Homosexuality isn't singled out as some bigger offense than others in the eyes of God. By my own beliefs and my own standards, I too am a sinner. I do plenty of things on a daily basis I know I shouldn't, but part of the Christian life is growing to be more like Christ and it is a life long struggle and a daily battle to undergo.
That being said, I am in no place to throw stones. Who am I to look down on a gay person in any way?
Also, this is a free country. While I believe in Christianity, I don't expect this entire nation to adhere to my specific beliefs and as such if gay marriage is made legal in all 50 states I won't lose any sleep over it whatsoever. It's not like they're hurting anyone; I say let them be. I don't think God will exact some "righteous punishment on our nation" if we let gay folks get married.
So even though I disagree with that lifestyle choice, Jesus taught love, acceptance, and tolerance and that is what I try to practice.
While I know a majority of you will disagree with this post (with some of you possibly getting offended) I just wanted to make it very clear that not all of us are close-minded, slack-jawed idiots. Please don't think we are all even remotely like the Westboro Baptist Church, because most of us really are not.

Just doing a check online for what the chapter says about gays, it looks like depending what version you read it is either against it or ambiguous

The King James Version has it as:

Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind.......

The New International Version has it as:

Or do you not know that wrongdoers will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor men who have sex with men........

It seems to me one of these 2 passages(if not both) is taking liberties with the original words to fit what they want it to say since the interpretations may be somewhat similar in some respects but not 100% the same. The King James translation leaves it open for a homosexual relationship as long as it's committed, while the other one goes all out to say homosexual relationships are wrong.

This pro gay youtube channel claims the word translated means a guy who has sex with boys involved in the sex trade(is not exactly a gay relationships)

Also states that their was alot of liberties taken with translation from greek(the original language the gospel was written in) to English
