Default Sinister Six for ASM2?

I know I brought this up like five times already but the idea excites me SO much that I had to go ahead and start a thread.

We just got the rumor today that Rhino could be a potential third villain for the film. We saw him in the video game which I am still deciding whether I think it's meant to be canon but none the less, he's been on the table so to speak. Of course we had Lizard in movie 1 and from what I've read, he's been on/had ties to the Six at some point in the comics. Then we've got the Goblin possibility dangling over our heads with the casting of DeHaan for Harry and the subsequent rumor that he will be Green Goblin in the movie (fueled by the inclusion of Mary Jane and the assumed death of Gwen). And last and possibly least... we've got Electro who is pretty much the only solid confirmation of playing a villain role in the film.

I think it's both possible and likely that they could be going S6 since the whole super hero team up is a bit of a thing now and has WB scrambling to get Justice League together in time for Avengers 2. Sony could be getting their chips in the game by putting together a villain team up in a movie for one of the most popular superheroes of all time. It's probably a double win in their minds.

Second, it wouldn't surprise me if they're going to try to put lot more action into the sequel since much of the complaint about ASM (that I've heard at least) have been about lack of action and fight scenes. As much as I enjoyed the drama and character elements of the movie, I would have liked to see a lot more fighting since the high school scene was pretty lackluster in my opinion and the final battle was too short. Having the Sinister Six would basically force action as Spidey has to take on so many at once.

The only thing left for them is to cast two more villains. The rumor came with news that Felicia Jones is in talks to play an undisclosed role. My thoughts were Black Cat but I feel like I'm just being shallow. BC could show up and play TDKR Catwoman... make ties to Peter's secret identity as well as Spiderman as a criminal he chases (if I remember correctly, she played a role in the game as well). Initially she could join the Six in order to get Spidey out of her way but perhaps let her soft spot for him get the best of her and become an ally. OR Ms. Jones could be playing another female villain... maybe even a classic villain altered to be female since the studios nowadays seem to like to tinker with that kind of thing..

Then there's room for one more which I would assume (and hope) is Doc Ock. However, the problem here is the same as with Justice League who's boards I typically frequent. They'd have to introduce five new villains AND still have time for Spiderman's side of the story. Telling each one's origin then getting them together and introducing their plan, then getting them out there to fight the hero would take up two hours all by themselves... probably more if they want to do a good job of it. I can't see them doing the group or the individuals involved justice with the small time slot they have.

Even if it's just Electro, Goblin, and Rhino that's still a bit much for movie #2. If they wanted a villain team up, they should have done more to build up to it starting in ASM 1. I cannot see them using the video games to pick up their slack with character storytelling since the market for that is so much smaller than the target audience for the movies. And making the villains a homework assignment would be bad news as well. So I don't know what to think :/

In any case, if it's true that they're going for the classic Spidey villain team up I'll be ecstatic. I'll even forgive them for the Foxx as Electro nonsense! Regardless of how poorly the storytelling is done, seeing Spiderman fight six of his greatest enemies on screen at the same time would be a dream... more than that, it would be supercalifragilisticexpialidociously awesome! I'm geeking out just imagining it if you couldn't already tell

Actually I think there's a good chance that Sony has a long-term game plan that includes the Sinister Six. But there's really no way they can shove all those characters into ASM2 without it turning into a mess, in my opinion - which is why I think the Six will be left for the third film in the trilogy.

If they've already introduced Lizard, Electro and Rhino in the previous films and not killed any of them off, then they can easily bring in the rest of the group for ASM3.

Not ASM2. ASM3 is still pushing it a little, especially if they have to introduce several villains in it to fit them into the S6. I think ASM4 would be better, or if they feel like it, they can push it to ASM6 and have it be the finale... if they get that far.....

Nah, I can't see them doing more than three movies before rebooting again. But the thing is, Sony is very intent on getting Venom into this series since they want to spin off a Venom solo movie connected to ASM so it's inevitable he will be the big bad of ASM3 which would be an even BIGGER mess if they tried to do S6 there in that case. So I don't know. I guess I'm just dreaming :/

But the proposition of Lizard returning as a villain alongside Electro, Rhino, and possibly Goblin is quite exciting as well I actually didn't hate his character but I wish they did a LOT more and trimmed a little of the dullness during some scenes. More action would have been appreciated as well, I was anticipating seeing Lizzy dish it out the most out of anything in the movie.

It's something I think they should hold off until a third or fourth movie. Of course, I'm not in control so have no idea what they intend to do and no power over it.

The Sinister Six could work earlier on if it involved minor (but still well known) villains that didn't require an involved origin story. Maybe that would be a bit underwhelming, though.

What if some of spidey's villains show up in other super hero movies and spidey shows up to help the hero fight them.Like Kraven in a Captain America movie,Mysterio in a Thor movie,Ultimate Rhino in a Iron Man movie.

Again, it's the same reason why you will never see Spiderman in an Avengers movie. Sony owns the rights to Spiderman and all of his supporting characters. Marvel can't use them in their movies and vice versa. So that's how I knew the patriotic iron man suit was not Iron Patriot since Norman Osborne cannot be the man in that suit.

I think you need several movies to come out before you can have the Sinister Six. I think in the end, that's what Sony is pushing for. I doubt it happens in the next two movies since they still have a story to tell(Peter's parents).
