I don't know... I'm keeping my optimism to a minimal on "DOFP." I mean it's cool to see Singer coming back I don't like the whole idea that the movie is going to be set 11 years after "First Class." There's so much history they could've covered and Matthew Vaughn's idea of Magneto being JFK's assassin was an interesting one. By placing it 11 years later, you miss all of that battle between Xavier and Magneto.

Plus, the continuity and timelines in all of the X-Men films are so f-ed up. "First Class" was a reboot, a restart, but now it doesn't matter anymore. I'm still going to see it but my excitement is strained. And I'm really hoping "Wolverine" will be good but "Origins" sucked so James Magnold is going to have to really bring the A-game on it like he did for the "3:10 to Yuma" remake.

New York, February 5, 2013 – Columbia Pictures announced today that filming has begun on The Amazing Spider-Man™ 2 in New York. The film is the first in the history of the franchise that will be filmed entirely in New York City and New York State.

The sequel to last year’s critical and box office hit The Amazing Spider-Man, the film stars Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Jamie Foxx, Shailene Woodley, Dane DeHaan, Colm Feore, Paul Giamatti, and Sally Field.

In The Amazing Spider-Man™ 2, for Peter Parker (Andrew Garfield), life is busy – between taking out the bad guys as Spider-Man and spending time with the person he loves, Gwen (Emma Stone), high school graduation can’t come quickly enough. Peter hasn’t forgotten about the promise he made to Gwen’s father to protect her by staying away – but that’s a promise he just can’t keep. Things will change for Peter when a new villain, Electro (Jamie Foxx), emerges, an old friend, Harry Osborn (Dane DeHaan), returns, and Peter uncovers new clues about his past.

The film is directed by Marc Webb from a screenplay by Alex Kurtzman & Roberto Orci & Jeff Pinkner, with a previous draft by James Vanderbilt, and based on the Marvel Comic Book by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko. Avi Arad and Matt Tolmach are the producers.

The film’s key behind-the-scenes team includes director of photography Dan Mindel, production designer Mark Friedberg, editors Pietro Scalia and Elliot Graham, and costume designer Deborah L. Scott.

The latest chapter in the Spider-Man story is set for release in 3D on May 2, 2014.

Also, the synopsis lists Harry as an "old friend" and makes no mention of Rhino. Hmmm...what the hell is going on in this movie?

I agree. But it could still be a working title.

It's the final title, or else it wouldn't be in the press release.

Nice. Interesting that Harry is an old friend. Could be a mistake in the writing or maybe they were childhood friends and when Nirman became sick, he decided to take Harry out of the public eye.

I would really hate it if that happens. I would forever be pissed at Sony and Webb for that .

So then, a new theory... lol. At least until we get some more info.

Toomes (Feore) and O'Hirn (Giamatti) are employees of Oscorp. Go to guys for Osborn (Massee). The plot of the film surrounds creating super villains like in "The Invisible Hand" episode of Spectacular Spider-Man. Max Dillon becomes Spidey's guy at the company to find out what Osborn is up to. Until he gets caught and becomes a villain himself. Toomes doesnt appear as the Vulture until ASM3...

I like it! As for the title, I guess its fine. I was hoping to get "Spectacular Spider-Man" or something, but it doesn't really matter. I guess we can call this the Amazing Spider-Man trilogy.

Colm Feore is in this too? I wonder if he's playing Norman. That would make two fatherly villains that he's played.
