Well...Yes and No. Yes, cause a rumor is ABC is thinking that licensing fee they would get from Prospect Park would be mighty attractive. They get to start off with, I believe $4M a year for AMC and $3.5M for OLTL. So I believe that's $7.5M for ABC, and all they doing is sitting on their butts. And it only increases in fees PP has to pay towards ABC for the soaps as the years go on and on. No, cause insiders say ABC is happy with GH overall now, and it's set to be renewed. However, if OLTL and AMC are a hit or even a modest hit on Hulu, iTunes, and theonlinenetwork site, then GH will probably join them in strictly online at one point. also Do No Harm, was Harmful after all towards the ratings at NBC! CANCELED.

Even if it doesn't live up to expectations, I really doubt it would do as poorly as Do No Harm, unless NBC literally gave it no promotion before it aired.
Either way, no one has seen a single frame of footage for Hannibal, so who knows...

...Well... I'm mixed...emotions... Let's just say there's only going to be 3 daytime soaps on network tv in 2014, but 3 former daytime soaps will be on Hulu, Hulu Plus, iTunes, and TOLN(theonlinenetwork) in 2014. According to a thread I'm reading/posting in on imdb GH board...guess Disney wants to cash out now. Guessing April a presser will come out saying it Officially that GH is going to PP for $$$.

Ouch...but at least a cheaper, 30 minute version of GH will live on. Some actors are accepting to stay on I read, but you know who, who plays Luke wasn't exactly pleased... I wonder if PP can get the new versions of the soaps to air on Lifetime if they do good on Hulu?

Hey, I actually think this is a very interesting topic.
So etm, if these soaps increase from 5 viewers to 10 viewers under 30 being on Hulu, will they be around for another 50 years for no one to care? |

Hannibal is a prequel TV series based on Silence of the Lambs . . . on NBC. My prediction is imminent failure.

Seriously man, have any of the recent offshoots of Silence of the Lambs been good? They did a Hannibal prequel movie. It was a terrible flop.
Plus its NBC and they have one of the worst batting averages possible as of late.

It's certainly a gamble, but you're really harping on it.

NBC might as well make a 30 minute comedy of ''this''...

I know it might not be the best place to seek advice, but perhaps a good user will answer me.
I want to start watching another series, which one do you like or you think is the best so far? American Horror Story, Alias, Revolution? How about The Following, the new one? |

Hannibal and Red Dragon did pretty damn good business. Hannibal Rising was Hopkins-less and strayed way off of the working formula. If this has a similar tone to the movies that worked and the actor playing Hannibal does good, this might have a shot.

-_-....''comedy''? No sir, Dikembe would be ratings gold. It be so bad, so good...like that NBC Show within 30 Rock that wasn't meant to be a hit, but it became a hit. Err, the game show one from the final season...back me up, 30 Rock fans. I forget the name of it. I can see Dikembe just blocking shows from Matthew Perry. Which is fitting, cause Perry's show are mainly one and done these days.

The ratings may have fallen off without The Voice as a lead in, but Go On's actually pretty good. I certainly hope it sticks around.

I don't think anyone will watch Hannibal because you already have The Following.
I'm not trying to harp on it, I'm just saying it doesn't look good for Hannibal, I'm just confused why people here have such high hopes for it to like rescue NBC. I mean sure, I will acknowledge it could surprise us and become a breakout hit, but we are talking about NBC here. Look how they treat success stories like Community.

Revolution and The Following both couldn't keep me interested despite them being shows I wanted to like. I still haven't watched the 3rd episode but I have very little desire to watch The Following on my DVR. If you have Netflix go watch House of Cards, a really good show that will have you watching 2-3 episodes in a row each night.
