Again, I said they proved themselves this season, you don't have to run down their recent wins for me. Denver is also on a similar streak..except they beat the Thunder. And Memphis does not have better closers than Denver. And for all those strengths Memphis has, Denver is a better offensive team in both transitions and half court, they're faster, more athletic, and have x-factors in Faried and McGee that can provide vital help on the boards against Z-Bo and Gasol. And on top of all that they have a better home court advantage.

I think there are definitely cases like this in all sports where players exaggerate the severity of an injury, but come right back and pull off a miraculous performance, and I think it happens a lot in basketball. The one that stands out is Pierce leaving in a wheelchair, but then coming back like Bret Hart at Wrestlemania X, and playing with one bad leg. But I also felt like Lebron's injury in one of the last Finals game, where he looked like he couldn't walk at all but still managed to dominant and became the unanimous choice for MVP, was another case.

I got a joke that I want to tell so bad in reply to this post but I'd probably get banned. Let's just say it was a work related joke and go from there.

No mention of his 11/33 game, all we hear is how SEVERE his sprain is and of course, the upcoming "what a warrior he is for playing through the pain" - what manipulation of the media.

Wasn't there a picture of his ankle though online?

I'd give it a C only because Kim is fine but that was the most boring porn I've ever seen. Heck, R Kelly's sex tape was better than that and I probably shouldnt say that.
Besides, we all think Kim is a no talent skunk but let's be real, if she threw it to any of us, we'd all take it faster than a gay dude in prison.

Hey, Kobe only played one quarter and missed his shots and sat put cause he couldn't play on the ankle anymore.

Are your panties wet now?

Inspirational win by the Lakers. This kind of win can lead to some big momentum.

That was pretty messed up for Kobe to play. He CLEARLY couldn't play and rather than sit out, he'd rather the team lose with him than win without him. Yet people say Melo is selfish.

Fortunately, Kobe Bryant was only able to play one quarter, allowing the Lakers to take the win against a gritty opponent in Indiana.

No Kobe more ball movement, nobody's talent getting stepped on, his 25 shots getting evenly distributed and the 10 or so minutes of the 48 he drains off the clock massaging the spalding, gets spent on running actual basketball plays...... I'm not surprised at all.

He did it to make a point and inspire the team. I doubt he ever intended to play more than a couple minutes. That's why he had that victorious smile at the end. Kobe is a very smart and shrewd guy.

Hahahahaha! Way to spin it! Had Kobe hit ONE of the four shots he missed, I doubt he would have come out of the game at all. He's selfish like that.

I'm not spinning anything, I'm not even a Kobe or Lakers fan. I just know the way Kobe thinks and he did that to make a point. That sort of intangible stuff does a lot to get a team going.

No you're right. It does inspire a team. But we are talking about Kobe here. If inspiration was his motive then why force up those shots over a guy 3 inches taller than you when you have no lift? If I was Dwight I would have told him to play through the pain, I'm sure Dwight realizes the only shot they had in winning was if Kobe sat out.

He took those shots because, like you said, he is Kobe. He wouldn't just go out there and walk around, he would try. He played in the first place because he wanted to lead by example. He couldn't just sit out after telling Dwight all season to play through whatever he was going through. And...it's Kobe. If he feels like he can play he will.

21 for the Heat...if they're ever going to lose again this upcoming back to back against Toronto and Boston would be it. Toronto has a high percentage of wins in those Sunday afternoon games at their house. And Miami has lost 10 games straight in Boston. If they can make it past those two, then things get interesting. The '71 Lakers' record will be very attainable then.

It's interesting though, 5 years ago, on March 18th (the Heat's upcoming game against Boston is on the 18th where they could possibly be at 22 straight games) the Celtics ended the Houston Rockets' win streak at 22.

How crazy is that!? I know they haven't beaten Toronto yet to get to 22, but still. That's some crazy odds right there.

Yeah I heard about that. It's like fate man.

I really want to see the Heat break the record though. Would be crazy to witness history like that. It might be another 40 years before that record is broken if the Heat get it.

How crazy would it be if the Heat never lose again this season? I mean, that would mean sweeping every playoff series. It won't happen but it would have to put them up there with the all time great teams.

I can't see that happening...would be pretty crazy though. I give that a 10% chance.

That's not something I ever said out loud because of how crazy it sounds but I did think of it. It would be awesome to witness something special like them breaking the '71-72 record or even crazier than that and sweeping through until and through the playoffs. Heck, didn't the Lakers almost sweep their way through the playoffs until they lost Game 1 of the Finals to Philly? I don't know, I love what I'm seeing and I'm rooting to see some more history made.
