Well with JJ I just can't wait till STID not only for the film itself, but you know there will be so many questions aimed his way, he will hopefully answer some.

Poor J.J. He has to be ready for the flood of Star Wars related questions when he's doing press for his Star Trek film. Kinda puts a damper on this in a way when he's actually trying to promote this present film.

I think that if he has any respect for the Star Trek franchise at all, he will deflect most if not of of the questions that are Star Wars related...

Hell, forget respect. Old fashioned professionalism will do. Which I think JJ has.

It's not disrespectful for a director to talk a little bit about his next project. They all do it. Of course if he over does it ya it could be seen that way. The press is going to ask him it regardless, and he will have to have some answers to keep that professionalism. When he was doing Super 8 many were asking him about ST:ID, and with many directors that is the case.

I think it would be somewhat unprofessional to just shoot all the questions down because there are many Star Wars fans that want to hear stuff. But I don't' think it will drown ST:ID.

If anything I think (not only because the movie looks excellent) that ST:ID will probably make more money then it would have before. Lots of Wars fans are going to check it out to get a glimpse of possible style they will see in Episode VII. So if anything it is helping it and I think will do no harm. It's just going to be crazy is all.

It'll be like Snyder during the Sucker Punch tour. Three questions from each interviewer about SP, eighty about Man of Steel. Of course, he was working for the same studio, then, so who knows.

Yeah, i thought the same. Hopefully he can find a way to limit talking about it for the sake of the ST movie.

I'm sure the media will be instructed to limit the amount of Star Wars related questions. Of course, they won't care but they'll learn once interviews start being cut short.

William Shatner sure doesnt hold much back, does he? lol http://clubjade.net/?p=46971

Shatner calls Abrams a ‘pig’ for taking Star Wars gig
February 11th, 2013 by Dunc · 1 Comment

You can always count on William Shatner to fan the tired old Star Wars vs. Star Trek flames.

“He’s being a pig,” Shatner told Movie Fanatic. “He’s probably the most talented director of that ilk we have. But, he’s gone too far this time.”

Looks like Abrams is going to get a real tounge-lashing from the Captain next time they meet up… Maybe he should draft Shatner’s ‘nemesis’ Carrie Fisher for backup?

Eh I think he's still pissed that JJ did not want him to be in the new Trek films but Nimoy instead.

Yeah Shatner seems to think the franchise belongs to him. It doesn't not even close. He needs to shut it

When Shatner says "...and not employing me in either one of them" it makes it sound like he wants to be in Star Wars.

I love the Shat but he's just using this to get his name back in the mix, he'll run off again if JJ sets Carrie on him.

I believe that Shatner, as usual, is full of it. He just likes the attention.

Abrams should cast George Takei in the next Star Wars to piss off Shatner even more.

Good god that would be funny.

EDIT: As an aside, I might be meeting Shatner at my very first Comic-Con in a month (providing he doesn't cancel). Anybody got any idea as to what I should ask him?
