The greatest thing about the original trilogy is that you saw people from different classes and backgrounds. Farmers. Smugglers. Princesses. Military Dictatorship (Empire).

I hope to see that again in the new movies, and I can see Urban as a rogue type. We all collectively miss the cynics in the franchise since it's been polluted with the more stoic and noble Jedi for the past decade (The Prequels, the Clone Wars cartoon, etc). Seriously, I'm sick of the heroes being these lightsaber lovers. It's time for a blaster lover to take the lead again.

Urban would be perfect for a rouge-type character ala smuggler or other form of "scum!" He is a really underrated actor in my eyes, this would be awesome.

But let's not get our hopes too high for Urban..yet. All we know is that El May has some big Star Wars new tomorrow, most likely deals with casting. And if we know the casting, then it may reveal the character he/she's playing..

El May did tweet: "There is another...SKy....wal...ker..." a few hours ago. This may lead to a Skywalker relative..Who knows. Maybe it's multiple casting choices for different characters! Oi!

I think he's referencing how Feige addressed that there could be another Hulk movie after Avengers 2 and that stories like Planet Hulk and WWH would be on the table to adapt them onscreen. That story came from MTV News about six months ago.

Well, it is what is it. Don't know how to respond to that sort of stuff, though I am excited that they are willing to give Hulk another chance to shine in a big way.

Though Planet Hulk is almost a retelling of John Carter. And this is Disney ironically, so that's interesting to think about.

John Carter and Burroughs inspired a lot of media and science fiction that became more successful. Just because John Carter flopped doesn't mean other similar stories can't do well.

The Incredibles and Fantastic Four for example .

Yes to Urban, no to Urban as a Solo-type character. He don't have the charisma to pull off a character like that. He wasn't even convincing enough in Dredd. Hmmm... come to think of it, the only movies where I enjoyed him were ST09 and Bourne Supremacy. And a tad bit in RED.

The problem with bringing in any rogue Solo-type is that you don't want a clone of Han or even Lando.

But it depends on the actor.

I'm sure Lando wasn't written to have Billy in mind, so I would image on paper, Lando came off as more Solo-esq. But then Billy created a new vibe for Lando with his own soulful swagger that he doesn't come off as a knockoff at all.

You think so? I don't think Lando was originally Solo-esque at all.

I'm just guessing on paper before they cast Billy Dee Williams. Billy made the character a lot more likable and memorable than what was originally intended. That's just me guessing though. My point is that some actors can totally elevate a character, especially when they carry around their unique brand of charisma.

I'm basing my thoughts on the pages, too. He comes off as kind of Solo-esque in the scene where they 1st see each other again, but he comes off as more sly in every scene after that. The msot telling part was how he makes his moves on Leia.

I think you're taking my analogy too literal. After all, I don't have a lot of weight but you're missing the point!!!!

Oh, I certainly agree with what you're saying, don't get me wrong. And I also agree that we don't need a new "Solo" in Ep7.

BTW Gianakin, as a reminder, El May from Latino Review will break a Star Wars scoop very soon. Later today in the morning (US Pacific time)

Stay tuned. It might be casting news, according to his twitter. (He asked on twitter if any Trekkies would object a Trek actor taking on a role in Star Wars. Strong Hint.)

I saw the "There is another Skywalker" thing he teased. Does El May get actual scoops? Or is he Jett-like?

no gets scoops. his ratio is fairly high. He has gotten things wrong in the past too but he tends to hit the mark 80 percent of the time.

or it could be one of the actresses. Which are..two?

I still wouldn't mind seeing Simon Pegg as a droid.

R2D2 and C3P0 could still technically be functional. I wonder if they'll be back...?

Simon Pegg can be as clumsy as 3PO and as deadly as the KOTOR droid.

And as for the girls... Saldana? Please no. Alice Eve in a slave outfit? Please yes.

There's no way they won't be, I can bet my mother on that.
