I don't think they want to do a full on reboot as for whatever faults this franchise has, there are plenty of well cast characters & great traditions that they don't want to lose. So halfway reboot through DoFP is more likely in an attempt to retain the good & excise just the bad. Within whatever is left at the end of DoFP I'm sure they can reinterpret Rogue & Storm at a later date.

Guys!!

there's a new interview to Singer on spanish yahoo, he said one of the few things he liked about X3 was the inclusion of Ellen Page, a character he is getting back on DOFP... and at the end of the interview, the reporter asked him about the villain of this sequel, he didnt revealed it, but the reporter asked him too if he has thought about using one day the villain Apocalypse, a classic from the comics, Singer looked to one side, laughed, and only added: "I cant say you anything more"

the tittle topic even says: "Have we discovered the director who is the villain?"

Here is the article: http://es.noticias.yahoo.com/exclusi...medium=twitter

could it be??

Oh geez I hope not. There's too much going on in this film already, Apocalypse very much deserves his own.

well, this could means that he indeed wants to use Apocalypse in the near future and this sequel could have a tease of him, not that Peter is the character

a tease to another epic event would be awesome

Maybe ending Is tease to apocalypse.X2's ending did setup Dark Phoenix even If Ratner and Rothman screwed It badly.

Bryan more or less said his feelings on last Stand Is like many.He liked certain things of last stand(Like ellen Page as Kitty) but disliked other things.

so glad he mentioned Ellen, this tells me he will do a great job with the character on this sequel, whatever the size of the role is

I agree it is probably that there is a tease to Apocalypse in the film. I don't really want him shoved into the movie. He needs his own movie to dominate.

Another thing, I still think Fox should move DOFP. If it was up to me I would release it on Memorial Day weekend and move Rise of the Apes to August. Let it take the Hercules spot that has been vacated. Apes is way behind anyways. They have been slow on casting and not sure how they will make their filming start date.

Apocalypse would be great for the next film. Keep it in the 1970s, make it the disco era. The wild individual outfits would be justified.

Apocalypse could be a more persistent villain in the time travel films.

Well he could have said no, he wasn't planning to use Apocalypse.

No, he's more suited to battle with the original series especially with Wolverine and Storm being in the team.

OK so I just thought you should know. I met up with Bryan Singer recently and this was our rather weird conversation:-

Me: So is Rachel in Days of Future Past?
BS: Rachel?!?
Me: Rachel.
BS: Rachel?? Rachel who?
Me: Rachel Summers.
BS: Oh. Well, erm... (pause) no. I mean, when I say no, I mean I'm contracted not to talk about it.
Me: What do you mean?
BS: I mean I can't talk about it so I have to say no.

So I'm thinking it's a yes, by deduction.

Cyclops, Jean Grey, Cable and Angel are pretty much required for a solid Apocalypse story. Dont think 70s would do it justice without some tweaking.

That would be awesome if they added Rachel. Im not expecting her to show up tbh, but Id def be stoked! More X Girls and faithfulness to the story the better!

I think only Rachel is needed. She is the one who shows the suffering that has been put upon her and other mutants. The rest will be just storyline and Cyclops, Jean, Cable and Angel aren't needed for that, surely. They need that narrative mechanism in a character to show what they're fighting for. The characters therefore are moot.

Although, I would kill for Boom Boom to feature.

I was talking about a movie featuring Apocalypse not DOFP. Angel needs to be there for that story. He has the best arc. Cable is fairly important there as well.

and Rachel could be one of those "younger characters" Singer talked about. Two for the 70's x-men and one for the future timeline = Rachel

Id be really surprised if Singer and Kimberg really bring her into the movie, like an obvious direct from the comic choice. I love when director try to stay a bit more faithful to the source (book, novel, or comic in this case) so lets see what happens

Yeah, I dont think many are expecting her to show which is why Id think it would be awesome. Plus unlike other characters this is kinda her only chance to show up in the films given her comic origin. UNless they do a full on Alt reality Age Of Apocalypse universe later and switch her there.

yeah, would be really awesome to see Fox REALLY expanding the x-men universe, and having Rachel not only on this sequel, but on a future event movie again too.

I have serious doubts, but many things could happen between 2014 and 2020, so

If that conversation was real, then Rachel Summers won't be in the movie simply because when the person asked Bryan Singer about Rachel, Singer's first response was "Rachel who?!!!" and there's only 1 Rachel in the X-Men universe. If she is in the movie, Singer's first response would have been "I can't talk about it right now".

If Singer doesnt know who Rachel in DOFP is then this is gonna be a sketchy adaptation haha. The guy has had plenty of time to do his homework and she has a very significant role in the story. Im sure he was very aware of her if that conversation did took place.

I doubt new characters will be revealed at all till the shooting starts otherwise we would have known who Dinklage was playing.

of course he knows who is Rachel Summers, lol.

Maybe at the beggining he didnt thought about her at all, but after the second question, she would have came to his mind pretty quickly.

This doesnt mean she wont be in the movie, or that she will. Bryan is clearly playing the mistery card lately, so only time will tell

Yep. There's not a Rachel Greene or something in the comics.
