Pretty much this. That's not a slight on either of those films at all. But TASM's tone was perfect for this series (and suits spidey the best).
So I hope it's similar.

Looks like that might happen. More Spidey day-light scenes, especially with the new pic of the costume with the brighter background and the NY scenes filmed today.

The Dark Knight Tickles?
On topic: ASM tone was fine. Good mix of dark and light.

The only movie that got the tone 100% right imo was none other than: Spider-Man 1. Slightly dark feel, but not angsty. I grew up with the 90's series, and that's the version that comes to my mind whenever Spider-Man is mentioned. That series (other than the sensor problems) was on kinda dark and there was a lot of night time scenes. I loved the contrast between the dark but radiant city and jokey Spider-Man
So isn't that exactly what TASM is? Well, no. It's close, but there are issues with balancing the tone which is hard to explain, but I'm sure that a lot of people know what I mean and agree. TASM was too angsty I feel. Spider-Man 1, when it comes to tone at least, is the most well balanced Spider-Man film. Also, the tone of TASM suffers from pacing, which Spider-Man 1 also did well
