Ture, but Ridley seems to be one of those directors who need a proper script to ground them, as opposed to molding a bad script to make a decent film. Give him mediocre scripts like Robin Hood or Body of Lies and he makes mildly pretty mediocre films, give him a decent script, he makes a mildly pretty decent movie like Gladiator or Black Hawk Down, give him a good script and he makes a good film like Kingdom of Heaven. What do you think of Kingdom of Heaven (directors cut of course), by the way?

Yeah , to be fair , i quite like Kingdom Heaven. But i always associate it with seeing the *****y version on a movie theatre. That's the only movie of him that belongs to the fabulous filmography he had when young.

I also like Matchstick Men starring Cage and Rockwell. That's one his best films along with Kingdom.

Perhaps. But I don't think I could handle a noir Batman film lol
Stylized, but real, like Synder's MOS. Something that Muschietti or Del Toro would do.

But looking at Looper, Johnson has potential.

Definitely should check it out, you can see why he's great doing noir. Also, having him do Looper afterwards should be more than enough to tackle a big project like Batman.

I know it's not the most popular choice but I watched Argo this morning and loved it. I think affleck keeps getting better and does action suspense really well.

I could see him doing well, but he seems uninterested in superhero flicks

Rian Johnson sounds like he doesn't want a franchise

My personal choice is Joe Wright but I also like Nicolas Winding Refn, Neil Marshall, Rian Johnson and Duncan Jones. Sam Mendes would be great too, but I think his take would be too similar to Nolan's. Older directors? Ridley Scott and Michael Mann would be ideal.

No more reboots thank you. Christopher Nolan made a super realistic Batman. No questions asked. No other director can pull that better. Nolan had a good perspective for the Batman Trilogy
