Well, It has to be a reboot in some fashion.
It cant simply be a continuation of what Nolan did , not without him anyway.

Frank Miller.

He wrote the famed graphic novel "The Dark Knight Returns".

Without that novel, Nolan and many other influential Batman directors would not have the inspiration to make their movies.

God, no. The last thing anyone needs is All Star Batman on the big screen. It'd do more harm than Batman & Robin.

Frank Miller directed The Spirit.

Nuff said.

Frank Miller also went insane, and turned into a caricature of himself.

Rian Johnson. Looper felt somewhat Anime-esque, and an Anime-esque live action Batman (by which I mean something with a futuristic noir vibe, like Cowboy Bebop) is something I'd love to see.

That's a great way to ensure the franchise sinks to lower depths than even Schumaker was able to muster.

Watch The Spirit to see how Frank Miller handles a comic book movie. Then you'll see why he should be legally banned from ever doing another CBM movie.

No first read a few Spirit comics then watch the movie then try and piece together what cocktail of hard drugs Frank Miller was smoking when he directed it.

So should we be looking for a director willing to handle Nolan's Batman?

I want Nolan to do new stuff, like Interstellar. I don't want him dragged back to comic book films.
