This time he'll save the daughter of an airforce pilot and the guy will get a bunch of Harriers to line up for Spidey to use.

That would actually rock.

The dumb crane scene was definitely a result of crossing the line on "making it more realistic/grounded"

Yes, the way Spider-Man usually swings would require an anchor point from above realistically, but I don't think anyone cares. It's unnecessary delving to realistic dynamics, I personally just wanna see cool swinging in these movies on regular basis

And please don't respond with "they meant for the film to grounded, not realistic". I know, their intention was not to Nolanize the concept. But Marc Webb and the producers have countless times said how they wanted certain aspects to be more realistic, like the costume, Lizard's mouth & jaw, and like mentioned before the crane scene

Probably one of the best things I've read regarding the crane scene.

I completely agree. They need to drop that realism **** and just let Spidey swing the way he's supposed to swing. I have a feeling that Webb dropped that crap for TASM2, though.

well bear in mind that in ASM peter was just learning how to swing but in ASM2 he is a "Viruoso" spiderman and i think the crane scene would´ve worked better if he slowly started to attach his webs to buildings instead of cranes

Yeah, by the time of TASM2 he'll be more experienced, and should be able to swing a lot better.

I don't know, there is logic is the crane scene. I can understand thinking it was cheesy or whatever, but not really dumb.

It's completely logical, but not the type of logical we needed to see

What was worse, crane, or people throwing crap at Goblin, or the "Well you're gonna have go through me, and me, and me" from the train scene?

I think he has too. It fits on a level in TASM, which is basically Spider-Man Begins, but I don't want to see this theme continue through out the series. Only use realism when it can make something more interesting, not when it waters something down

I don't know... I liked the train scene through out, the bridge Goblin thing and the crane scene pretty much tie in their dumbness

The crane, imo.

Again, I didn't mind the crane scene. I think the worse is the train scene moment. Then the bridge scene in SM1.

I honestly can't stand any of the civilians and their one liners. Like the one chick that yells "Go Spidey!" I think.

ugh I hate those one liners too. I have a high tolerance for that kind of cheese, but I still cringed.

The crane scene was way better. At least it doesn't come out of nowhere and it makes sense. I just love the shot where it pulls away from oscorp and we see how far away it really is from spidey. We know he won't make it in time, and so does he. But seeing the cranes align and the people he is trying to save giving him the push he needed really made it an awesome scene in the movie.

I love the reactions in TASM, way more subtle. Some gasps, a guy takes video with his phone, felt pretty realistic. I could've done without the helicopter news guy though
