So there is much speculation about what the placement of photos of this wall may mean. Personally, I am just thrilled to see Storm (Halle) on the wall at all. But what do you guys think of her placement on the top row? And do you think it's possible that one of the remaining six or seven open slots will belong to a young actress cast to play Storm of the past?

No, not at all. One Storm is more than enough.

I don't think we will get teenage storm.I can just see the complents if they have teenage storm and not teenage Cyclops and Teenage Jean. And Origins and last Stand makes It
hard for them to be In 1973.

Star Power Is probally why Halle Berry Is as high as she Is on board.Although she may too have larger role than Kitty or rogue If they go with Xavier mind switch as time travel.
Remember both Xavier and Wolverine are In future scenes so both of them will have larger roles than storm. She may have some good character interaction for a ew minutes If some are being held In camp. And should get to take part in mutant VS Sentinles action.

I think it's billing order, personally.

Hugh Jackman
Jennifer Lawrence
James McAvoy
Michael Fassbender
Patrick Stewart
Ian McKellan
Nicholas Hoult
Peter Dinklage
?
Halle Berry
Ellen Page
Shawn Ashmore
Omar Sy
and Anna Paquin

Then everyone else.

And if it is billing order, then I'd wager Wolverine is the TTer and it's like:

1973 (the majority of the film/more screentime):

Hugh Jackman
Jennifer Lawrence
James McAvoy
Michael Fassbender
Patrick Stewart
Ian McKellan
Nicholas Hoult
Peter Dinklage

The present (less screentime but prominent roles):

Halle Berry
Ellen Page
Shawn Ashmore
Omar Sy
and Anna Paquin

Though Omar could go either way.

This is a really interesting article out today on Forbes about Halle Berry. I found it quite enlightening...and disturbing at the same time.

That's a shame.

I doubt we will the see the younger version of Cyke, Jean and Storm. If this is just a straight-up sequel to FC and not X3. Then sure, but the Sentinels/the future period are going to be one of the focus of this film, bringing back the younger version of those three would just complicate the story.

And Halle Berry needs to book more good films. I can't believe X2 is her best reviewed movie.

But the knocked the script saying it was just crap. And that seems to be a consistent denominator with Halle's lead movies. Even in Catwoman folks think she was good as the lead, but it was the storyline, directing, etc. were terrible.

I think Halle really struggles with picking good scripts for herself. Or perhaps it's her agents. The talent is there. But the scripts are not coming to her. Either way, she needs to make some changes. Making millions of $$$ is great, but what kind of legacy does she want to leave behind for herself?

Honestly, I don't find it particularly enlightening. What I do find interesting is why the author thinks that Halle Berry, above all other actresses, should be the one to buck the trend of agism, racism, sexism, and the all around fickleness of Hollywood with which plenty of actors struggle?

Perhaps. But the truth is there aren't many black actresses of note right now and the ones who have had the most memorable roles lately have starred in films like The Help which isn't exactly a forward-thinking concept. But you're right, she's not the only one who struggles in this area; the talk-back mentioned Nicole Kidman who's another Oscar-winning example of bad film making.

I found it enlightening for this reason: Meryl Streep is my favorite actress of all time. And while I adore Halle, I can see she's certainly no Meryl, who is very versatile. But I don't think Meryl has faced some of the same challenges that Halle has. I mean, even the film that Halle won her Oscar for wasn't exactly ground-breaking, nor did it show the full range of Halle's acting ability. But Meryl Streep wouldn't be caught dead straddling a Billy Bob Thornton and shaking her boobs. And I don't believe she's ever had to do so in order to get an award. I mean, let's be frank: Halle got that Oscar because of that sex scene--it was great acting, but carnal at best.

So I think there is a bit of a double standard.

She needs to fire her agent. I know he's been working for her for over 20 years but damn! It's time for a change...clearly the guy is steering her in the wrong directions.

Agreed. She's a terrific actress, totally beautiful, and deserves better.

It does appear that The Call is doing much better than expected this weekend, which is good news for her, but she still needs better projects.

I don't know why everyone thinks she's so great. "Things We Lost in the Fire" is the only good performance I've seen from her. Everything else is just... crap. Do I need to bring that scene from Swordfish where's she's choking out?

Things We Lost In The Fire was a great film for her. But have you seen Queen? Her performance in that film would bring you to tears. I mean, it was heart-breaking material to begin with and...well, it brought me to tears watching her in it. She needs more roles like that.

Mulholland '49 Here you go...

Start at the 1:40 mark and watch for a minute. You really have to see all the s*** her character had to go through to suffer the emotional melt-down but...by that point, her husband's been murdered, her baby taken from her, it was madness. She's a biracial woman...too light and hated by black people, but dark enough to be shunned by whites, even though her father is a slave master himself who was genuinely in love with her black mother, who had also just died.

And then at 2:56.

I find it interesting that Halle's beauty is brought into this conversation of whether she's deserving of better roles or better career decisions.

Halle's The Call is expected to open at #2 this weekend with $16M+. It cost $13M to make, so it appears Halle finally has a hit on her hands.

http://www.deadline.com/2013/03/1-oz...straight-bomb/

Going into the weekend people were expecting Burt Wonderstone to open around $16M and The Call to reach $10M if it was lucky.

However...

Quote:
Burt was beaten badly by Sony/TriStar’s new Troika/WWE Studios pickup starring Halle Berry, The Call (2,507 theaters). It shocked Hollywood for 2nd place and earned a ‘B+’ Cinema with $6.2M at Friday’s box office for a $16.7M first weekend. Even though the low-budget kidnap thriller is playing in 653 fewer locations. “Huge credit to Halle and all her hard work,” a Sony exec gushes. Grosses are coming in higher than expected by Sony which acquired U.S., Canada and a few other territories like South Africa and Scandinavia. The film was produced for mere mid-teens.

Naturally Sony’s media campaign targeted females as well as the African American audience. TV ads ran on crime/thriller shows but also The Bachelor and Army Wives while Berry pulled out all the talk show stops.

Wow Halle Berry's latest film is a bigger hit than Bryan Singer's latest film! Now people could stop criticizing that she's not selling movies anymore.

Good for Halle!
