However, if need be...just say that Jean in X3 was actually Madelyne Pryor. As for Scott, we never SAW him die on-screen. Floating shades? Meh. Sinister took them both, and has had them all along. Simple as that.

I'm torn on whether or not I'd be content if we saw a younger Scott and Jean cast in the movie. I'd be happy that the characters themselves would be involved in the story, but the best thing about this not being a reboot is the opportunity to have Famke and James back and if they weren't in this movie I'd feel like it was a wasted opportunity.

Besides X2 and X3. I thought Cyclops had enough screentime and character development in X1. For me, he had a bigger role in X1 than Jean Grey, Storm and Magneto's minions.

I thought Scott and Jean had pretty similar sized roles in X1 with maybe the edge going to Jean imo. What characterization are you referring to?

I thought X1 was pretty balanced, with the focus more on Wolverine, Rogue, Magneto, and Xavier. But there was a promise of bigger things to come for the characters. Jean, Cyclops, and Storm were totally owned by Toad of all people. But there was a sense that there would be more story lines and action sequences for them in the sequel. Obviously some characters got more to work with than others in the two sequels.

Storm took the worst beating of the three though. I mean....I remember being in the theater thinking "Does this director hate women?" because Toad couldn't get enough of kicking Storm's ass all over that gallery (and then I thought Bryan just hated Halle/Storm because then he had Mystique take on Storm's form only to get stabbed in the stomach by Wolverine--as if a Jean or Scott likeness couldn't have sufficed ).

However, in the end, Storm got her revenge...and then came...the infamous line written by Joss Whedon.

Jean had it pretty bad too. She humiliatingly had Toad's spit all over her face and Cyclops had to save her. As much as I love these movies, that was pretty awful first team fight.

-Out of Storm, Jean and Cyke, Cyke had more command
-His rivalry with Wolverine
-His little moment with Professor X at the infirmary

She had a cake walk compared to Storm. Rewatch that scene.

I'm not arguing that Jean had it worse, just saying she had it bad too. She was the closest to death... on account of not being able to breath.

Yeah, the end fights were horrible. At least SInger made up for it in the X2 fights.

Jean Grey:
1.) Kick to the stomach with one booted foot

2.) Muck on face versus....

Versus

Storm:
1.) Kick to the stomach

2.) Thrown UP to the second floor via a 12-foot tongue

3.) Landing on a glass table display

4.) Kick in the face with two booted feet

5.) Landing in another display

6.) 2nd Kick to the stomach with two booted feet

7.) Thrown down the elevator

Are we really contesting this issue?

There has been no other female in this trilogy that has taken more physical beatings than Storm. The final battles in X1 notwithstanding, she also got held up by her head by Sabertooth in the train station before smashing a glass window with her.

And of course, then we have X3...her bloodied fights with Callisto were just...wow. From having her face punched through a glass table to a knee to the nose...I mean, DAYUM. LOL

No wonder FOX & Co. put her on the front of all the marketing alongside Wolverine. They were the only ones really taking it for the team. LOL She's definitely um, resilient.

Hes dead in the comic of Days Of Future Past and in X3. I really doubt hes coming back during the main section of the film. Hes not crucial to this story. Like others have said he will be back at the end. This franchise cant survive without him past this film.
