Meh. The general audience wont care either way, only the fans will. If they want an explanation they can google or youtube it. It exists, just like other problems people dont agree with. Everyone thought X3 was clearly not canon anymore casue of the FC history and that was proven false. Until I see some legit proof, all X3 is still canon cause thats what the film makers have said is intended as of now.

Like you said its an old film now, No one will want to see long explanations for a film that old which will more then likely not be canon by the end of this film. Just move on with the new, and fix all the bs that doesnt add up perfectly.

But... re-explaining the after-credits scene of X3 will take time. And it's confusing. And it won't be received well. And you can't just have him back with no explanation like nothing ever happened (if that was the case, hi Scott and Jean )

I'm not saying X3 won't be canon, but changes are going to be made to timelines and alternate realities/futures are going to present by the very nature of the story they're adapting. So it's way easier to undo a lot of this mess that way.

They dont need to explain it though, too much time has gone by. The X Men are disbanded in The Wolverine and that whole cure/body swap thing is gonna be old news. They need to just forget it and move on.

What makes people think they are going to spend a lot of time explaning It.They are going to want to move on.Besides by end of film what went down In Last Stand may not be too relvent anymore.Bryan SInger Isn't outright ignoring the Last Stand and Origins but that doesn't mean he's going to spend a lot of time on It.

Then why not just reboot the franchise if everything that has happened is just going to be ignored anyway?

Yeah his best bet is too just not mention any of it. If anything I would think The Wolverine will be the one to bring up the post X3 stuff since its the closest to it. And Im sure alot of time has passed between those movies were it might not be relevant as well.

Yeah... but then X3 might as well be right out of continuity then! You have to accept that there's going to be an explanation when the last time we saw Xavier he exploded into a million pieces. He's not just going to be rolling around like nothing happened. And the twin explanation just doesn't work.

Why? The answer is there in X3 if you want to watch it. It may not be the best way to go about it but its def there.

We will see, my pov is just that too much time would have gone by to care about the actual aftermath of something that happened 7 years ago. The Wolverine can answer some of those things if needed. That film and DOFP are said to tie together. And with Cyclops I just dont see a place for him here besides the end after a new timline is added or the future is fixed. I get people want to see him, Ive been wanting that character to have more time since X1. But if this story is in fact post X3, hes def not needed till the end.

Could be wrong. This franchise has always had some surprises. Be it good or bad haha.

^The End of X2 where Jean narrates and as the camera pans over we see the Phoenix in the lake. The only thing that would've made that better would be if she had actually risen out of the water with full Phoenix effects, just for a second and then let the credits roll.

With Scott I love his talk with the comatose professor in X1 where he says he would take care of the kids and X-Men if Prof. X couldn't make it. It was classic boy scout Scott and a great character moment.

Ah I don't think so. The Phoenix effect/Jean voice-over were just perfect.

Yeah it was a good tease, but I'm a greedy fanboy and want all of my cake. Having her rise right before the credits hit as the camera is zooming in would have been epic to me.

No X3 should have had her rise as a Phoenix bird! It should have been epic.

I thought for sure that she was gonna manipulate that fire behind her to form a scary raptor/bird in X3 to scare Logan at the end when he's trying to get close to her.

My favorite scene with Cyclops was in X2 when he is in the jet and Wolverine is like "wait wheres Jean?" and he reacts immediately running for the door and she closes it on him and you could see the intensity on his face. Then he screams "LOWER THE RAMP WERE NOT LEAVING!!!......STORM LOWER IT!"

THEN WHEN SHE IS TAKEN BY THE WATER....WOLVERINE IS LIKE SHE'S GONE....SHE'S GONE." AND THEN CYCLOPS YELLS "YOU DON'T SAY THAT!, WE GOTTA GO BACK." "SHE'S GONE" THEN HE'S LIKE "NO....NO!!" THEN HE BREAKS DOWN TOTALLY WITH WOLVERINE. BEST EMOTIONAL SCENE IN ALL THE MOVIES BY FAR IN MY OPINION.

My fave scene is when jean makes her choice to save those she cares about but ultimately pays the price by giving up her life. No matter how much it hurts me, you can't blame the determination on her face when she closes the door on the one she loves most. She puts her friend's needs first before her own by putting herself at risk, no matter the cost. I guess its one of the reasons why I prefer this version of Jean over the one from x3. She just wasn't the same as she was when she should have been the Jean Grey we all knew and love. I miss that version of her. Jean is my fave x woman of the x men.

Yeah I love the ending of X2.It's an expanded alternate version of her sacrifice that lead
to phoenix.

Also even though XMEN: THE LAST STAND decimated all of the characters, the scene with scott and logan in the hall was great. I love the interactions between him and wolverine in all the movies, the conflict/competition. That's what we needed sooo much more of....we got alot of it in XMEN and it was amazing.

"HEY HEY, IT'S ME"......."PROVE IT" LOL

"Hey I am just passing through"..."so pass through Logan"

"you call that a landing?"

Not that what happened wasn't.

We'd kind of already seen "Jean on fire" in X2. Yeah, it would have been nice, but the medium for Dark Phoenix was water, which was also the means of Jean's "death".

Can't blame fans for wanting to see a full on firebird raptor in X3, especially after being teased in X2.
