The problem is that we've seen probably every instance of Jean and Wolverine interacting with each other. There were no off camera implications that they've grown close or anything. Before X3 they had maybe three or four scene of flirting I guess. After X1 he leaves, they spend a lot of X2 apart, and then she dies. That's not a relationship.

Get over it Wolverine.

Great, cool. She's still a big part of his life. In the films and in every incarnation of the character ever created.

Wolverine has always had feelings for Jean.Since he killed her In Last Stand not crazy Idea for him to dream about her or having her In his mind during the events of The Wolverine.

He says "I love you" ergo, he loves her. Really no point in debating. I'd agree with you if he never said that, but he did. It's hard to contimplate a characters feelings or intentions when they flat out say how they feel.

If he said "I'm hungry!" in a scene, would you then argue that he was actually thirsty?

Yeah, it's very suiting as a follow up to X3. Better then leaving that out, her death should have an impact on him.

I dont get the problem, do people really expect a Jean/Scott relationship in a movie called The Wolverine where both Jean and Scott are dead? They are just gonna be hugely disappointed. Jean is said to have a cameo, nothing more.

big part of his life? if you look at the movies you notice that wolverine had only a few scenes with her and cyclop was more depressed then wolverine was after x2, its a very forced love interest

Ok, well that's how you feel.

How about we put it in clearer terms. The Wolverine takes place after the events of X3. A film where Logan was forced to kill the woman he CLAIMED to love. The repercussions of that should be felt.

Does that satisfy you?

it would make sense for him to feel guilty, but to be lustin after the girl he cared about and had to kill seems bit wrong

Yup. That's what he's doing. He's lusting. In fact, the dream he's having is a wet one. He wakes up in a cold sweat and a boner, then hops in the shower to knock one off.

And there you have the opening sequence of the film.

Superman. Batman. Thor. Captain America. Every chick flick ever made. Every movie ever made in which characters meet for the first time and fall in like, lust, or love by movie's end. When did this become a problem limited to Wolverine? It's not like the phrase love at first sight was invented yesterday, or that there aren't millions of creative works dedicated to the subject[s] throughout human history. At least Wolverine has three movies with Jean to justify a dream sequence with her. I don't think that's too far fetched, especially after he kills her. Far from it. In fact, I think it would be more disconcerting if the movie addresses Wolverine's struggle with his "immortality" and doesn't include his lamenting the loss of liked or loved one's along the way.

Yup, I mean if you killed someone you cared about because they were suffering, I think you would be normal to have dreams about that person. After all it would be such an emotional and hard thing to do, that would likely change your life.

if this is how its going to be i kinda hope cyclops and jean don't return, i think there is only so much lust, love, like wolverine can have for jean before it gets silly and before audiences are just waiting for the time they get together

probably best they don't return

I don't see how one thing relates to the other.

Even in the current X-Men comic books I think many people expect the inevitable return of Jean Grey and the beginning of the Wolverine and Jean Grey romance. Just like in the Age of Apocalypse.

we probably seen wolverine get more action from jean then cyclops, even though cyclops was the one in a mess after jean was seen to be dead and all wolverine told scott to do was move on

to get another scene with them kissing in this film, its becoming one of them things where audiences are on wolverine side and cyclops will be the other guy keeping jean from logan

kinda reminds me of james marsden role in superman returns actually

Pretty much summed up my problem with this aspect of the teaser teaser.

As much as I want Jean Grey's cameo to be actually her in the flesh, it seems to be a dream sequence. We know that Wolverine will realize that everyone he's ever loved dies, it's probably a grim reminder that he killed Jean and this will lead him on a destructive path, but how will The Wolverine tie into DoFP? There has to be some kind of lead in near the end of the movie. There simply must!
