They could be shooting something with Cyclops for end of film.

If Bryan Singer had treated Last stand like he did Superman III and IV with Superman Returns you could have had Cyclops with rest In future scenes although maybe he Is
using time travel fallout to do that only this time have a reason

Nice to hear it being rumoured, but I think we should stay sceptical until we hear something more substantial.

Either way Cyclops will return in some way. He is too important to the X-Men for him to be left dead, if they do plan to go on with this series.

If Cyclops is back, I hope its just him so they could focus on him in the next movie. I don't want to see Jean anytime soon.

he may be given a bigger role in another film to make up for past films but i doubt he will ever be the focus

No one character should ever be the focus of the X-Men movies. Not wolverine, not professor X and not even Cyclops. The comics have focused on him so much these past years (and it doesn't help that I don't like Cyclops as a character) The last thing I want is for him to dominate the X-movies, wolverine style. The movies should be ensemble pieces with a group of say four main leads. In the comics the big 3 are Cykes, Wolvie and Storm, so I'd add Rogue to round out the four as she's the longest serving X-Member after those three and Jean (who I think should either stay dead or come back in flashbacks and visions to help Cykes get over her) in the movies. The rest should be strong supporting characters that each get a chance to shine.

I think he'll at least have a cameo... And I agree, the movies should be ensembles...

Especially since it's clear that Singer is friends with him. He took him to Superman even though it caused a conflict with X3.

Plus, he mentioned fixing things and I think Scott's death was one of the biggest problems people had with X3 (along with the depowering of mutants and bad dialogue and too much wolverine and bad phoenix affects and Prof X's death)

And update on my Cyclops post. Just a refresher, I posted this a few days ago:

@TheDCD James Marsden was there too. They were shooting X-Men stuff. Or is that just the cover story...?

!!!!!!

Ray Carsillo added some more:

They were sitting two rows in front of me. When we got off the plane, James was heading to connecting flight.

But yes, it seems that both Halle Berry and James Marsden were in Montreal for the next X-movie.

That would be awesome if James was in the movie. James has the boyish looks to keep doing the role for a decade, I'd say. But he's also looking a bit more rugged and commanding which could be good for the character.

Seems like Famke may be promoted as one of the stars of The Wolverine as opposed to just a cameo - People magazine featured her in it's "most beautiful" edition (Halle and Hugh were also in the issue) and titled her "The Wolverine Star". Maybe she will even do some promotion for the film and talk about DOFP again, who knows.

I can live with the bad dialogue, the excessive amount of wolverine screen time, the lack of Phoenix affects and even to a certain extent, Xavier's death, but I have a big issue with whatever the hell they did with cyclops. It's just.... No.

Yeah, that was lazy and stupid. They didn't elaborate on it past "I think I killed Scott". You think? Hey, maybe we should go and check at some point? Or maybe not.

I swear, I thought at one point Wolverine was going to piss on Cyclops' grave in X3 and raid his closet. Cyclops got treated horribly in that film, even after his death.

Hope it isn't true. I don't want to see Cyclops back in DOFP.

Killing him off and then giving Wolverine his storyline is pretty much the same thing as ****ing on his grave.

Not to mention Xavier completely dismissing him as if his absence didn't matter.
The whole thing was disgusting on so many levels.

What if the Dark Phoenix kept him in suspended animation and he was sent back in time to warn the X-Men ???

But yeah, I seriously can't think of a feasible way to bring him back outside of altering the timeline. 8 years have passed since the events of TLS, or however many years. Cyclops not showing up all those years probably means he's dead and not coming back until the timeline is changed.

Continuity and logic don't matter to the people at Fox. I don't see why it would start being relevant now.

Logic also doesn't explain why Singer would hide this, considering how quickly he's been on Twitter updating his followers on up to the minute breaking developments. More than likely it is a cameo suggesting that the timeline may have been altered to bring certain characters back. That's the only sensible explanation as to why James hasn't been announced, assuming he's in the film. I don't think a cameo should come as a major surprise either.
