I liked Matthew Goode in Watchmen. I was reading some hate he was getting online in the role, but I liked him.

I wonder if others here dig GB2 like me? I can understand thinking it isn't as good as the original, but it definitely gets a highly undeserved bad rap, IMO. I always watch the two movies together and they go great together.

Maybe it's a nostalgia thing and I grew up with both movies as a kid, but I find both are just as fun and creative, and both have a winning combination of scares and laughs. I never watch one without the other because I feel they're incomplete if not watched together.

It's not nostalgia for me, I never saw GB2 until I was around 13.

Only thing I don't like about GB2 is they set the reset button between the two movies rather than progress the story. Other than that, still hilarious and entertaining.

He did okay, but he was probably a bit too young for the role. It dawned on me recently that Guy Pearce would have been perfect for Ozymandias.

That's true. Never thought of that. I'd like to see Matthew Goode in more stuff because he really is fantastic.

I'm not sure what the response was, but I know it had a lot of hype around it so I'm assuming most people liked it. In any case, I just watched The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo and did not like it. I know Fincher doesn't *always* make brilliant films, but I still expected better. Predictable, cliche, and the ending stunk on toast.

I just watched Ninja Turtles II on YouTube... Screw you guys, I still love it. It genuinely makes me laugh out loud. And the opening sequence of that movie is what began my lifelong quest for a New York Pizza.

Yes. I recommend reading that one, but if you would like to skip that one because you have already seen the movie, I would suggest some of Chuck Palahniuk's other books, my favorite ones being Survivor, Invisible Monsters, and Choke (which is also a movie, just far less popular than Fight Club).

Good to see others enjoy Ghostbusters II here. People are usually quick to come out of the woodwork to bash it, but it certainly has it's defenders, too. I can understand thinking it isn't as good as the first, but it's still a very good film, I think.

Most of the hate I see towards Predator 2 is never explained. Secretly, I think a lot of those haters just wanted Arnold back. I like that it took place in a different environment and with someone who wasn't this muscular special forces type of character. Plus...Gary Busey. "Lions, tigers and bears, oh MY!"

I think if you hate Ghostbusters 2 then you are probably dead on the inside and a miserable person.

I don't think anyone hates GB2. It's just not as memorable or quotable as the first one. But as far as comedy sequels go, it's one of the better ones out there.

I also thought that JDM and especially Cruddup were really good and that Cruddup's Manhattan was underrated.

Cruddup was exactly what I wanted out of my Dr. Manhattan. All in all, most of the performances were fantastic. And even the ones that weren't were still quite good.

Only one I didn't really care for was Malin Akerman. She just didn't work for me.

Speaking about Ghostbusters 2, I think it actually is a good sequel. Considering how big the first one was, they had to put a lot of effort to attempt another one, and I think they did a good job. However, I think there's little of them actually busting ghosts in their GB uniform, is mostly them in their regular clothes, and I miss the feeling from the 1st one when the Ecto 1 finally goes to their first job. The scene in the court house should've been bigger and more important (poor Winston, he's still left out), but there's little impact.
Besides, it doesn't make sense that people don't want them anymore, or there's still doubt about ghost existing, after the events in the previous movie. But well, I can let that go. |

This guy did an interesting analysis of GB2 awhile back.

I actually saw the first GB well after I'd seen the cartoon and the sequel in the theater (I was 6, and it was damn scary for me at the time. The first one probably would've messed me up even worse.)
