Crapping on Avatar isn't an unpopular opinion.

"Oblivion", "World War Z", and "After Earth" all look boring.

^ And virtually the same as each other. I'm a Star Trek fan, and a fan of the first Abrams ST movie... But I'd even go so far as to put STID in that line-up too, as it stands.

The only thing that has impressed me in any of the Into Darkness trailers is Alice Eve in her underwear. But the less I know, the better. J.J. probably has a ton of surprises in store and he's not one to give anything away. I'm sure the movie will be one of the best this summer has to offer.

I don't like the idea of stories taking place after some apocalypse or another

Good post-apocalyptic movies are few and far between.

All I like of those are Terminator 1 & 2, and it's cause the stories take place back in the past

This is sadly true. I love the post-apocalyptic theme, but there are so few movies surrounding it to begin with (compared to other themes) and amongst them there's maybe half a dozen decent films, if that.

I find the first 5 minutes of T2 more entertaining than any other post-apocalyptic movie I've seen. If only Terminator Salvation lived up to that...

Speaking of post-apocalyptic films (and unpopular opinions), I enjoyed The Book of Eli quite a bit and think it's underrated. A lot of hatred towards the film is directed towards the twist, but the people who criticize it as unrealistic don't really understand that's basically the point of it.

Also, this film makes me interested in what the Hughes brothers would've done if they had stayed attached to the Akira live action movie...

I thought people liked Book of Eli. I thought it was really good. Not a masterpiece or the greatest thing ever, but a good watch.

I liked The Book Of Eli a lot. The twist worked fine for me because I assumed he was only partially blind, not completely.

I don't remember it getting very good reviews, but maybe in regards to general consensus my perception of people b****ing online is skewed towards the negative.

But the fact that people had a problem with the plausibility of a blind man being able to survive those events at all tells me that they didn't understand the very basic point that it was supposed to be, y'know, a miracle. , something completely not plausible in the first place. It's like arguing that Superman is unrealistic because Krypton doesn't exist.

The movie is three years old, are the black out tags really necessary?

On this very board we had people complain about having the ending of The Great Gatsby spoiled for them. I assume nothing.

I see what you're saying. I didn't like that angle though, so I chose to believe it worked out in a logical sense.

Necessary? No. Courteous? You bet!

Don't know if this is unpopular, but I cannot stand Toby Jones. He's never done a roll where he didn't just bug the living **** out of me the ENTIRE time.
