Except if I did that, it would be plainly clear what film was better and it would make for am extremely boring conversation.

Man, I couldn't stand There Will Be Blood. Maybe I need to watch it again or something, but in my memory it's easily one of the most dull films I've ever seen.

That was kind of the point, though.

You just watching him slowly go insane over the course of years. Everything's very plodding and deliberate to really emphasize the emotional and psychological impact of everything. Then when it all culminates in this mighty crescendo at the end...its awesome.

I find the 2011 version of Conan a more entertaining and rewatchable fantasy film than the Lord of the Rings trilogy.

I really don't think the first Matrix movie is all that good.

Is it bad? Of course not.

Do I even consider it one of my favorite sci-fi movies? No, not at all.

I like it, I do. It's not one of my favorite trilogies, but I enjoy all three of them.

I have trouble taking the first matrix seriously, and ihacent really seen the others. Tefigs are all so obviously choreographed, like just how slowly they make their moves and deflect, and the look of the black leather coats and the sunglasses indoors and at night, it's just silly to me.

I've always gotten this really creepy vibe from the first Matrix film for some reason. It makes me feel uncomfortable strangely.

I like the first one, and think the sequels were totally unnecessarily and took themselves waaaay too seriously.

For that matter, so does the third Pirates of the Caribbean.

I love the first Matrix movie. The sequels... well I liked the Highway chase in Reloaded, and Mr. Smith's lecture in Revolutions,,, And that's pretty much it.

Oh, yeah this is the unpopular film opinion thread, sorry, lol.

Well, I have never enjoyed a Ridley Scott film (I've seen: Alien, Gladiator, Black Hawk Down, and Robin Hood). The best thing about his movies for me is his production company's opening logo.... Which is awesome, btw.

Sequels to the Matrix were very necessary.

Just not THOSE sequels.

Scott does have an odd approach at times. It took me multiple viewings to really enjoy Alien and Blade Runner.

I love them now, though.

I love Gladiator and really liked Alien and Black Hawk Down. Robin Hood can go away and never come back, though. I honestly have not seen any of his other movies.

I actually greatly prefer Tony Scott...
Top Gun, Days of Thunder, Man on Fire, True Romance, etc

Personally, I never thought Gladiator was good at all. I love the genre, and have watched it 3 or 4 times now, but it always boils down to an overly simplistic gladiator story and a strangely pointless incest subplot.

Joaquin Phoenix was the best part of Gladiator, imo. And Black Hawk Down wasn't terrible, it was just loud, boring and predictable. The coolest thing about that was seeing how many actors I could recognize from other movies (Obi Wan, Bane, Jaime Lannister, etc.)

I never thought Gladiator was that amazing either. It wasn't terrible or anything, I just didn't think it was the super amazing film it's cracked up to be. I have a buddy that worships that movie, and I just don't get it.

Skyfall and most Bond movies (all Daniel Craig) ones should be a cure for insomnia. Skyfall had a great opening action sequence but that is all. How this movie made over a billion dollars at the box office is beyond me.

Hmm... i certainly felt that way about From Russia With Love. I had to turn it off halfway through. The only other film I've done that to was The Green Hornet.
