I don't remember Chris ever mentioning a "police state", but the GCPD were definitely very proactive in cleaning up Gotham City, solely because of the Dent Act.

Well, he's an actor so he must been busy with work.

I'm sure he'll see it.

He has no interest? Not every cast member does franchise films they are a fan of.

He just said no when asked if he saw the last one. But he was proud of TDK and enjoyed working on it so maybe its just because he has been busy with work.

No idea. It's probably the IGN offices where he did the interview and one of them asked him to pose with a Two Face toy.

Anyone here read the novelization for TDKR? What's different on that that's not on the film?

I've read most of it and it really is very close to the movie. Just little added bits of insight to the characters here and there, but nothing that really makes you see the film in a different light.

I have never quite understood the point in 'novelisations'. Not judging, just don't get it.

Thumbs up Re: The TDKR General Discussion Thread - - - - - - - - - - - - Part 144

So I go and pick up the latest issue of Detective Comics today, I'm reading through it and look what Batman is driving in it:

No, I just think the temptation to blur the intellectual property into one overarching 'franchise' stifles creativity in the pursuit of uniformity. Comics tell superior stories to the movies which derive from them, in my opinion, because they are unencumbered by the need to safely manage huge budgets and vast international audiences. They can be inventive and take risks. If the comics ape the movies, then they are being derivative of something derivative.

I'm just not interested in that.

I understand, but it's not as though they're doing things like introducing Rachel Dawes as a prominent character, or making Fox the Q of Batman's life etc. These things like Tumbler, the Narrows, the Bat Bunker decor etc are minor little things.

It's not as though you read these stories and feel like you're watching a carbon copy of a Nolan Batman movie.

Marvel often do the same thing. They take little things like that from various movies. Since Spider-Man is my forte, several times Doc Ock had the trenchcoat look and red lights in his tentacle claws ala Alfred Molina in Spider-Man 2. Sandman got a daughter like in Spider-Man 3.
