Tell Bob Iger to shut his mouth then! Share holders a-go go are expecting it since Bob's been banging on that 2015 drum for the past few months.

I think Iger is PUSHING for a 2015 release for Star Wars, and at this point for a movie of that magnitude, it's simply impossible for the typical May release unless they can settle for Winter 2015.

The problem with any talks of the World's Finest or Justice League is the uncertainty of the Man of Steel sequels, especially if Zack Synder is involved with the other project(s). That would be a real shame if Man of Steel turns out to be a gem.
World's Finest will never see the light of day...they may do something similar with Supes, Bats, and WW.

Avengers has May while SW7 is probably gonna be June or July. Whatever project they might have can fit in there.

Or a 'Trinity' film.

2015 tentpole releases currently scheduled: Avengers 2 (May 1), Star Wars 7 (June 19 TENT) Pirates 5 (July 10), Hunger Games Mokingjay P 2 (November 20)

So an August release for JL/WF? Hell no

You're absolutely right. I hope to hell this thing isn't rushed, there's no need to. Just saying though, hypothetically there's still a lot of room for things to shift. Abrams hasn't officially committed to the 2015 date from what we know. If Star Wars is announced for 2016, then this could potentially make 2015 even more desirable for WB. But again, that's just me looking at the business side of things. If this is gonna happen it shouldn't be rushed.

I agree with this completely. WF first would be the way to go. And yeah, what this means for the future of the MOS franchise is a bit worrisome. But that was always the case with them wanting to do Justice League I suppose.

I just think Star Wars will make it in Summer 2015. My heart says but my brain says no, and the more prep time JJ has, the better. So I'm placing my bets on Dec 2015.

I can see Nolan getting involved in a JL movie as Producer but alongwith Snyder, so that he can oversee the project but it will not demand his full attention.

Nolan will be involved with Justice League movie only as it has Batman, I don't think that he will agree to be producer for spinoff movies like Wonder Woman, Flash, Green Lantern 2 etc.

I'd say late July for Justice League. I mean, if Justice League had to DIRECTLY compete with another franchise, be it Disney, then I think they can take on Pirates 5. Minus a week or two.

I really feel like Pirates 5 will move, can't see Disney releasing 3 potential billion dollar movies all in one summer.

Poni,

Did you hear about Star Wars being a June release (tentatively)? Is that what Disney is trying to aim for that JJ is being hesitant about?

It's a gamble. Pirates is another guaranteed billion dollar franchise. Would be like putting it up against Transformers. Just unnecessary.

And SW7 pretty much has to come out in the summer since Avatar 2 is scheduled for Dec.

Are you kidding? That's what they want every year. Just wait till they buy Hasbro in '14

That's what everyone keeps saying. The basically want to dominate the summer. That's why you don't see much else from other studios being put on the board for summer 15. By this time you'd start seeing projections.

Oh, and Pixar has something coming out at end of July. No title yet. Rumored to be Toy Story 4.

If they have the potential to do it every year then go for it. But what do they have as tentpole in 2016. Something else will come along but its not a sure thing like Pirates is despite it losing a bit luster now.

We won't know until next year really (or end of this year) what they are projecting. That's three years out. But if I were a betting man I'd guess for summer 2016 Disney wants the first SW spin-off, Muppets 3, their next non-Pixar animated movie, a Marvel team-up movie and something from Hasbro. Plenty of room for JL to stake claim.

And Pirates hasn't lost its touch. The fourth movie was the highest grosing yet.

I was mostly referring to domestic. But I guess overseas will never tire of Jack Sparrow.

Sometimes, gambling/risk taking pays off....Especially if they play their cards right.

Again, you're right... but we're in a state of unpredictability in Hollywood. Hell, I can see Disney putting Star Wars in November (if they can move Ant-Man to 2016) or December regardless of Avatar 2. It'll be an interesting year nevertheless.
