Yeah J Law/Mystique got a lot of attention in the clip, but I most say that it is actually looking really good! I was slightly worried we'd have more "Mutant and Proud", but they are really keeping their promises and living up the expectations.

I noticed that already. I think it's just a continuity thing between the shots, probably because of how Singer wanted the shots framed. But she has to have metal on her, he can't pull her towards him otherwise. (and even with cuffs it, it would really hurt)

I should've clarified, Mutant and Proud didn't really bother me. But for this movie I want more than just "Mutant and Proud" and "to be... normal". It was fun to see a different Mystique (being friends with Charles even), but I want to see if J Law can pull if the more *****y, mature and potentially troubled Mystique.

It always strikes me as strange that some seem to assume that Lawrence wrote her character in the first film. I haven't read the First Class script but I assume that she played the character as written. Young Mystique wasn't written as a mute killing machine so she didn't play it that way.

Mystique is perhaps my favourite character in the movies.

Her action was always great, she didn't have many lines but they were always memoerable and meaningful.

She's a villain to be sure but her ideal if not her goals never seemed to be mutant supremecy really more equality and in-line with Xaviers but in a more active and agressive.

She was living homeless as a child, unable to go to school because of her mutancy she then grew to embrace her mutancy and wear it proudly. She adopted a stance of being who she is and not compromising for the sake of others and training to defend herself against those who would locked her away because of her genes.

She basically wants the world to accept her and those like her.

Imo she is the type of person who if the brotherhood won the war would be thought of as a pioneer for mutant equality.

I'd imagine that she'd be in in between mode in this film. More ruthless and badass than in FC but not quite as much as in the OT. Also, Mystique design in the movie looks really good, the bodysuit that JL is wearing works surprisingly well. I wonder if it got awkward for her having to be naked on set everyday in front of everyone?

I'm not really liking how the body suit looks on her in the new photos. It kind of looks like a cosplay costume. Yeah, I'm being picky. mehh

But she does look amazing in the brief trailer preview!

Yeah, I'm not seeing that at all. Besides, some of those cosplay costumes are really good.

This time around the makeup really makes her face come through. There's barely any scales on face, for better or worse.

I suspected that there was a possibility that she'd look more recognizable under the make-up this time for obvious reasons. It looks fine to me. I don't see what the big deal is about the body suit. If the filmmakers see any issues they will digitally take care of it. I believe Lawrence had issues regarding the blue make up last time, they had to do something to make her more comfortable.

the patterns on her face are less noticeable with her new look, in FC they were very noticable and stuck out

this new look makes her face less hidden

Jennifer looks friggin' adorable in that 70's wear

With the blue make-up, they were probably like, OMG we can't have Jennifer Lawrence be blue and unrecognisable for the majority of the movie

Mess. The only good thing was the hair, which looks better than her current wig.
