It could be for the ending of the film.

But from what we've seen, her hair in DoFP is just about as short as it was in the OT.

Anyway, in FC, I think they had the longer hair not only as a reference to the hairstyle of the time period, but also to make her look younger and maybe more innocent.

Well, no. There's the scene where he's recruited and the jailbreak, but aside from that I don't know. I don't believe he's in the '73 finale.

So at least two scenes, I hope he has a better treatment than Multiple Man in X3.

There's not many things I can guarantee, but that is one.

They seem to have made a lot of effort with quicksilvers action scenes with presumably the prison break

He also interacts a bit with the character drama. So he's more than just a plot device.

There's so much drama and heart-wrenching stuff in 1973. And when you pair that with the terrifying and equally dramatic future, you've got quite a film. I wouldn't be surprised if it becomes the most highly-regarded superhero film.

You know I am always sceptical when people say they know what is gonna happen in films but even I have to admit I am kinda wanting this to all be true purely because it could be such an emotional ride. I will have to marathon the films the day before release... Maybe missing Origins and I seem to fast forward a lot of X3... pretty much all the cure bits.

I do really want Jlaw to get the electromystique voice but I doubt that will happen seeing as they have already covered her up and I doubt they would want people to know its even less of her.

Hmm I'm just hoping the film won't end up too dramatic like X3. Hopefully Bryan Singer will find right the balance for these emotional scenes.

I feel like X3 tried to be very dramatic and fell flat. Singer's films don't, especially X2. If the drama is warranted - in this story I believe it very much is - then I have the utmost faith it'll be appropriately displayed with great writing and performances.

Oh, its funny you say that because I found X2 far more dramatic than X3 (in a good way), With x2 I felt so much more invested in it which automatically helped as it had a good story and the way each thing was delivered was superb, from storm and nightcrawler talking to the tornado scene to the possible mutant population being wiped out. X3 whilst I was invested in the characters because they were the ones I grew up with I felt no drama in any of the scenes other than when mystique took the bullet for mags and when xavier died.

The thing that annoyed me with 3 was that I felt if Singer had done the Phoenix story it could have really been a "Oh god the human race could be possibly wiped out, mutants and humans included." which would have been natural progression from X1 (Humans turned to mutants) X2 (mutants possibly wiped out then the reversal) then X3 (all of humanity wiped out). But I didnt feel that much danger. it was just like alcatraz would be dissolved and that was it.

Actually X3 is the most dramatic X-Men film, after that its Origins.

But I think a film can still be good even if its the most dramatic thing ever if the script and story-telling are good.

That's your opinion, obviously. My opinion is that both of those movies failed at the drama they were attempting to achieve. It's also my opinion that X2 and FC were the most successfully dramatic films in the series.

But I have a sense that DoFP will trump all. Especially since it's been said to be a blend of X2 and FC.

The drama in X3 is completely different from drama in X2 and First Class. In X2 and FC, it's real, it's emotional, it's deep. You're really connected with the characters, you understand why they are doing what they do and how they're feeling in those movies.

The drama is X3 was so hollow, it was drama just to push the story or have that "Oh wow" moment, not to tell anything significant about any of the characters.

Huh what? This has nothing to do with "achieving or failing drama". X3 is the most dramatic X-Men movie and it was too dramatic in a bad way. And being the "most dramatic" is actually not a good thing.

With X2/First Class, none of them were that dramatic, it just had the right amount of drama/action/funny moments and they handled the drama moments better than X3/Origins but that doesn't mean X2/FC are the most dramatic X-Men films.

I think we may be getting mixed up with each persons interpretation of drama. I mean dramatic in terms of the drama that the film has. So the dramatic plot changes and twists and the scenes that pull at your heart strings.

The potential for great drama in DoFP is enormous, I'm just a tad worried about how it will all fit into one film and not feel hurried. Especially with Hugh Jackman talking of how DoFP is two or three movies in one.

Like a lot of things Last Stand failed with drama

with Bryan Singer directing DOFP should do very well with the drama.

There was plenty of good and well executed drama in X3, even on the levels of what we saw in X-MEN and X2. A few glaring errors do not change the content of an entire film. This obsession with painting the entire film as "bad" is annoying.

Sorry but compared to X2 last Stand fails.

Nope, Magneto will be imprisoned from the start. Wolverine and Xavier will have to break him out with the help of Quicksilver. Magneto snatching Mystique is most likely him stopping Raven from assassinating her target and happens later in the film.

How do you know that / is that a good thing story wise? I was really really really under the impression Magneto would be an active villain at the start. Why have another Magneto prison break out?? That feels a little redundant.
