I say that because Cap's journey as a character will revolve around him adjusting to the future, a plot point which can be picked up directly from Cap 1. With IM3, Tony's mental state is a direct result of the Avengers and Loki is a major presence in Thor 2, which only makes sense if you watched the Avengers.
Loki is "a major presence" in Thor 1 as well; so in that respect, TDW is as much a callback to that as it is to Avengers.

Crossbones could be a good victim for that. You know, really close fight, Crossbones raining it down on Cap with a vicious assault, then one little dodge and a shield throw that splatters Crossbones' teeth all over the next continent.

Or something like that.

Or taking a helicopter/plane/armored car completely out with one shield throw.
I doubt they will show him on the toilet, even if it's meant to show how he runs.

Yeah, but it appears he has been talked to about it.

Even that's debatable.

It's not horrible, but it's so lackluster compared to what everyone else does that I get bored watching it.

They need to show off his combat and acrobatic skills more.
The forest fight was more of "Cap's shield can do that?" moment to me.

But he did beat up three Chitauri, proving to the NYPD that they should listen.

I mean it doesn't make sense for him to be there in Thor 2 unless you watch the Avengers.

True.
But I'm willing to bet that CATWS will feature callbacks to Avengers as well. In many ways, the events of TA1 had to have affected Steve far more than even WWII and the SSS. I mean, it's frickin' first contact with alien invaders; and oh, by the way, pagan gods exist, too. That *has* to shake Steve's faith and worldview.

Hmm, I think the way he realized that SHIELD/Nick Fury were lying to him would affect him more than the aliens, since he doesn't have the same inferiority/superiority complex as Tony. Aside from finding his place in a new time, I could see him struggling with the reality of the way those he serves work and finding a reason to fight for them as being major points of contention in the film, especially with Bucky being his enemy if he fights for them. So yeah, it could harkon back to Avengers that way.

Hope it doesn't stray to far from what we got in The Avengers. The difference should be as noticeable as the difference between Iron Man's Mark 3, 4, 6, and 7 armors IMO. The helmet/cowl should be the only thing notably different from his Avengers suit.

Seeing as the outfit in the Avengers was horrible I hope we get a complete redesign.

Nothing's wrong with wanting a different suit for Cap 2. His suit in Avengers was okay, but it was the lamest suit on the team imo.

I continue to hold out hope for a switch to the U.S. Agent outfit. IMO, it works best for the movies.

Didn't say there was anything wrong with it, he has every right to call Cap's suit "horrible." I just don't agree with it, so I used eyeroll smiley >

I also disagree that it was the "lamest" on the team, whatever that means. IMO it was one of the best. Captain america has been my favorite superhero ever since I first knew about superheroes, and this is almost exactly how I think he should look, with only minor adjustments needed:

YESSSS. I want to see the Agent Rogers outfit on screen so bad. It would look the best for this movie.

I liked the one in the first movie more. And I'm not bias against Cap lol. He's not my favorite hero or anything, but it's not like I don't like him. I loved Ed Brubaker's Cap run and this is probably tied for my third most anticipated phase 2 film.

When I say you seemed biased against him, I mean you don't seem to want to acknowledge that people liked Captain America in The Avengers more than you think they did.

Not trying to question your fanhood, but are people who want this to be Cap's main costume actually Captain America fans? This is the equivalent of someone wanting Superman to wear something like Superboy does. Captain America is a symbol. The Agent Rogers uniform and mantle was only used when someone else was already acting as the symbol that is Captain America.
