Is it a perfect film? No. But the positives far outweight the negatives IMO.

If I blocked Vid Electricz and WesMan, I think this thread would be at least 3 pages shorter..

Remember when you'd have to do a group or partner project in school and there was always one kid who didn't contribute anything- and if he did, his ideas were terrible? Then once you had finished working hard on the project he would still gladly take credit for it, lying through his teeth and saying whatever he needed to make it look like he did something? Well, that kid is Arad in a nutshell. |

I can believe he pushed for Venom. He was talking about it like nuts in the build up to release I believe.

Watch/read some interviews with the guy. He's the typical money grubbing empty headed exec. He has no idea what he's talking about and what he does say has zero content. The man is a leech. |

See, I thought Spider-Man got the characterization down more than TASM. Funny how opinions work. I'm not talking about superficial stuff like that. I'm talking about actual story structure, character arcs, etc... TASM was just an incomplete movie. Dangling, unfinished story AND character arcs means a sloppy, hacked together movie- and the awful editing didn't help. Though the deleted scenes added almost nothing to the movie. |

Yeah, I know about the Venom thing. Raimi wrote that script, it's not incredibly hard to make a good movie with Venom. And honestly, Venom wasn't the worse thing about that movie.

No, but it is incredibly hard to have to rewrite your entire script, starting from the ground up to incorporate a brand new element that is pervasive throughout the entire story. Have you guys ever written before? You act like it's no big deal to just "add Venom in". lol. lol.

I was under the impression that when they started the script that Venom would be in it. I didn't know that they had the script completely finished and he said, "Oh, how about some Venom!"

Since he also had a dab in creating the story, yes, he should definitely be given as much blame as the director.
But so far, it doesn't seem like MOS will be bad at all considering the reviews of the film already. Quote:

Why do people on both sides talk as if their opinion about a movie is fact?

CBMs I enjoy the most at this moment: 1) The Avengers, 2) The Dark Knight, 3) Iron Man 3, 4) Iron Man, 5) The Amazing Spider-Man. CBMs in the near future I'm most looking forward to at this moment: 2) Thor 2, 3) Man of Steel, 4) The Amazing Spider-Man 2, 5) Guardians of the Galaxy (would be higher in the list if it wasn't for how much I hate the film Super from the same director). |

I think real early on in the week or last week, it might've been onlocationvacation that stated they'll be filming at "peter's old house" today. The one in TASM.

I think she's more likely to be a waitress. The facade may give it modern look, but Eisenberg Sandwich's is an old school Jewish sandwhich shop dating back to the 1930s. These places are generally gastronomical and are known for things like pastrami. At least from my experience, these old sandwich shops operate like any diner.

The story structure was fine. The movie is not meant to tell all in one film. It's gonna take its time over a few. There is nothing wrong with this approach to film making. Hell, even books, TV shows and comics spread character arcs and stories. And what is so aweful about the editing? I do agree there are moments where the editing does seem a little sloppy. But I don't think it's as bad as made out.
