It's not even red that low in the sky. Even on earth, the sun grows red as it sets.

DO NOT WANT!

Since it's bigger, it would have to be even lower for it to appear red.

Krypton's sun is a red giant, but that doesn't mean literally only red light.

Krypton llooked very dry.

Check out this vid of how a red sun would look and it matches the trailer:

Not that it matters I guess but Krypton is currently described as a red dwarf in the comics.

the sky looked like it had a red hue to me. But does it really even matter?? They are genetically engineered beings...

like Kal said, the outside shots of Krypton had a redish, brownish hue in both shots (beginning with Jor-El and in the background while Zod is in chains).

The color of the sun on the planet itself though is not an issue, it how it looks when they show it in space, as long as it has some red in it, even just a red outline, I'll be satisfied

It does matter because the EW article confirmed that the yellow sun is the source of Clark's powers. Genetic engineering does not suffice as an explanation of their powers since we know people are dying on Krypton in a war. Why then would they be invincible on our world and not their own?

Personally, based on the new Entertainment Weekly article, it sounds to me like they have put a lot of effort into Krypton's ecology and its connection to its red sun. For instance, EW says that Krypton's surface is barren and that that Kryptonian civilization is largely subterranean. To me, that seems to jive with the post-Crisis of Kryptonians' powers under a yellow sun. Because of less solar energy emitted by a red star, the planet was barren and life had to evolve to be particularly hardy. Kryptonian flora is largely nonexistent, so so Kryptonian fauna is partly photosynthetic as a way of collecting every little bit of solar energy it can. So under a yellow sun, that photosynthetic energy gathering goes into overdrive.

A red sun doesn't look red to the eye. "Red sun" is just a nickname for this type of sun. Visually it doesn't have to actually be red in the film.
