Damian dying at the hands of The Joker would be redundant. Damian dying because of his mother's resentment towards his father resonated a lot more.

What I mean was that Grant Morrison was super secretive about his writing and wouldn't work with George Perez. This made the Superman title suffer.

Words from George Perez
"I had no idea Grant Morrison was going to be working on another Superman title, I had no idea I was doing it five years ahead, which means, my story I couldn’t do certain things without knowing what he did, and Grant wasn’t telling everybody, so I was kind of stuck, who exists, DC couldn’t give me answers. Oh my gosh, you’re deciding all these things and you mean even you don’t know what’s going on in your books… so I became very frustrated…"

Yeah the book was a big mess in the beginning. I dropped it before Perez even left. Sometimes I looked into things after he left but it was a jumbled mess. Very chaotic. When Lobdell and Rocafort came on I checked it out and enjoyed it more than what came before.

I agree with you to a certain degree. Still think it could have been handled better. Damian didn't NEED to die in DOTF, but to do it a month later so randomly. The story outside of Damian's death had no significance. It wasn't hyped or anything. I didn't even know Damian had died until I read about it on the internet.

I just compare Damian's death to other occurrences. Off the top of my head...
Superman's Death - Death of Superman. Pretty big deal
Supergirl and Barry Allen - Crisis on Infinite Earths. Big Deal
Jason Todd - Death in the Family. Big Deal
Barbara Paralyzed - Killing Joke. Big Deal
Batman's Death - Final Crisis. Big Deal
Damian Wayne - Batman Inc? What?

I just think it was so random and on such a small scale. I just think that if they were planning on killing Robin, it should have been a bigger deal

It was a big deal... But you're not reading any Batman books besides the one that's current arc takes place before Damian was born.

Unfortunately, his creator decided his story was over. But he also created a means for potential return.

It's very much a win win. Grant gave us a very cut and dry end, but paying tribute to the coninuing nature of the medium, it's pretty much how he ends everything.

CBR:
Johns & Romita "Really Want to Create Something Big" with Superman

So Johns and Romita's stint on the main "Superman" series, starting this summer, is a newsworthy thing just by virtue of existing. Yet the pair (joined on the book by the legendary Klaus Janson on inks) sound determined not to coast on the book's novelty: Both make it very clear that they're looking to explore what's "fresh and new" with the Man of Steel, and live up to the lofty expectations their teaming on the series brings.

CBR News spoke with both creators about their "Superman" plans, which include introducing a "damn exciting" new aspect to the 75-year-old character.

It and Unchained are the best that Superman has been written IMO, although Pak is doing a ****ing awsome job too.

Yeah I have recently started reading Pak's run with Action #25 (ZY tie-in). Pretty good issue and I loved Lana.

I think it's time for Superman to get some real combat training now.....I think he finally sees that he's been leaning on his raw power too long......he is totally unskilled.

Yeah it was awesome to see this all powerful being just get handled by two trained soliders, I think we need a Diana and Clark sparing issue with Batman as the trainer. Diana may be an amazon but Batman has trained in many forms of combat and knows the incapacitating moves that Diana doesn't go for and he would be the better one to train Clark as he isn't going for the kill ever.

I think that whole "no killing" thing will drive a deeper wedge between Clark and Diana.........

In this case, it's a stupid rule......But.......

Diana is in a slight dilemma........her lasso is being used to keep those doors closed.....she really needs to get that thing back.....

have they ever explained how/why the Superboys and H'El have telekinetic/psychic based powers, in addition to or instead of standard Kryptonian powers like Superman and Supergirl?

ah, so they never really explained it upon that?

does that mean, theoretically, both Superman and Supergirl could develop such TK/psychic powers?
