I'm very surprised JLA sold that much...it outsold JL's initial printing by 100,000...althout JL may have been intentionally under-shipped. Either way, I think this is the second best selling comic ever behind The Walking Dead...very surprised at this.
And I'm sure Uncanny X-Men #2's sales number belies how demanded it actually was. Marvel has been doing the same crap with All-New X-Men...my shop barely ever gets enough copies of what they order for the series. Marvel has to be doing this on purpose to raise the value of the books...and of course get people on their subscription list. And as I suspected, the 1st printing of Batman Inc #8 only sold 50,000 copies...the book is going to be worth a lot in a couple years I'm sure. Anyways, aside from the top 5 Marvel is whooping DC all around. I'm surprised DC is within 5 percentage points of Marvels dollar and unit share considering Marvel is selling more comics at a higher price on average...JL and Batman are DC's only saving grace. |

I always find the sales figures for Avengers titles interesting. Even with a huge publicity push, movies, toys, and cartoons, the Avengers never seem to sell better than X-men and Spider-man titles. The highest selling Avengers book is Uncanny, and that's half an X-men book.

Yeah that is pretty interesting. I guess it has more to d with old school comic fans who grew up in the 90s when Spider-Man and X-Men reigned over everything.

Batman and Justice League have had their spots pretty firmly in place.

My thoughts:
- Just like I thought, the Marvel NOW launches of Red She-Hulk and Journey into Mystery were a complete and total mess. - Sad to see X-Factor drop over 1,000 units. I don't see this book surviving into the next year without a relaunch. - Surprised to see Thunderbolts remain stable this month - Glad to see Star Wars and Thor gain in sales, Indestructible Hulk looking like it will find it's level soon, and see Avengers Arena drop pretty hard. |

I'm not sure what this all means but I'm happy to see Cable and X-Force in the top 50 (39). I really enjoy that comic book.

I never understood why Iron Man never sold much. He seems very popular with his movies.

Amazed to see Uncanny X-Men selling so well considering Marvel has been demonizing Cyclops for a while and trying to move the character to the side in favour of Wolverine.

Jesus, has Thor: God of Thunder been selling in the 30s since it debuted? It's probably the best Thor comics since JMS relaunched everything in '04. How are people not into it?

It's risen in sales. Thor just isn't that popular I guess, but the fact that it has risen shows the quality of the book is catching on. Same with Hawkeye.
Speaking of which, I find it funny that Hawkeye and Green Arrow are 56 and 57 on the sales list. |

Thor: God of Thunder sells in the 50k range, not the 30k range.

I'm not talking about units, I'm talking about position on the charts.
And Thor was plenty popular before Fraction mangled his series all to hell. JMS managed to keep him in the top 20 for damn near his entire run.

Its a new #1 to the flagship X-men title. Its high numbers arent suprising and Cyclops is doing better as a character than he has in ages. Dont underestimate the fact that alot of people are absolutely loving him now, more so than when he was boyscout who played second fiddle to Wolverine in the 90s. Marvel has made him a serious contender and important figure in the MU

I liked him better in the 90s. I like him now but not with how aggressive he is to other heroes. That's getting old. I liked it when he was on the (slow burning) fast track to Captain America leadership status. Perhaps this take on his character will be what gets him there, but with a harsher demeaner.

Somehow, I doubt anyone will be comparing him to Captain America. He's pretty much an outright villain at this point.

I don't see Cyclops as a villain at all. His mission statement hasn't changed. What he is doing in Uncanny X-men is the same thing he was doing back when he formed the original X-factor.
