Caught this earlier today on a whim, and it's actually a pretty intense thriller. I know the trailer seemed to basically show the whole movie, but it gets pretty crazy, to almost Hitchcock proportions. Plus the R rated violence coupled with Michael Imperioli tacked on helped.
![]() Halle's hairstyle in this flick just seems to say "guuurlllll".

That's the most "guuurlllll" I've seen Halle since BAPS.

Apparently it could beat The Incredible Burt Wonderstone this weekend:

I don't take those early projections too seriously as they are more likely Ball park figures but I wouldn't be surprised if The Call beat Wonderstone this weekend.
Wonderstone has awful previews and t.v spots while The Call's, although not great, are decent for a probably mediocre thiller. I do have a special place in my heart for Session 9 eventhough I don't think that it held up as well as I wanted it to.

WWE Studios have shifted strategy. They're financing regular movies with WWE stars in supporting roles, instead of having WWE stars playing the lead in 'wrestler movies'. It didn't work so well with Dead Man Down, but they should see a good return from The Call.

Yeah, they have the money to bank roll medium sized flicks, so I don't see any stigma if they want to fund a movie that has a decent crew working on it.

Yeah, I heard that The Call, while not a masterstroke, is surprisingly good.
