Looking at the picture, I thought this was just a piece of hair or something, but after watching the trailer again it appears that it's something sticking out of his head?

So you are saying theres Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain and then theres Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeros? Even tho the trailer shown of Metal Gear Solid: The Phantom Pain clearly has elements from the most recent demo of Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeros?

I think its a safe bet that both are the same game. Unless theyre pulling like a Pirates of the Caribbean and developing two diff MGS games back to back to release one after the other. Which could be an interesting concept.

It's what all the reporters there seem to be reporting.

Though it is Kojima, hard to say sometimes with him. But this seems to be the case.

I was just reading that Ground Zero was the prologue while the phantom pain is the main game. No clue if that is true or not. Also, what system is this coming out for ps3 or the next gen consoles.

I heard that the part in the gameplay trailer of Phantom Pain is the tutorial/prologue.

Look, I'm just relaying what Keighley said, which is that the Phantom Pain was a brand new game no one had seen before. Maybe the dude was lying through his teeth, I don't know.

It's also worth noting that after the Ground Zeroes reveal Kojima said that Ground Zeroes was a prologue to MGS5, and he recently said that he's interested in the idea of doing "pilots" for future games.

Kojima shares my love of Garbage? Awesome! He also loves excessive lens flare. Not so awesome.

That trailer leaves me with a lot of questions, and I can't wait to find the answers to them. An aside: there's footage from Ground Zeroes in there. That's pretty big confirmation the two are one in the same, despite the comments so far. Also, I guess this is really called V, not 5? Is it V for victory? Peace? Paz?

Kojima has referred to this game before as "Project Ogre." Big Boss has a protrusion coming out of his head. Probably not a coincidence.

EDIT: I just noticed at the flaming Volgin in the hallway part that he has horns sticking out of his head.

Kojima's confirmed the whole Ground Zeroes is a prologue thing.

http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/20...l-gear-solid-5

Hideo Kojima just tweeted that Ground Zeroes is the prologue section in Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain:

"'Ground Zeroes' is a prologue of 'MGSV'," he explained. "9 years after that event will be 'The Phantom Pain'. MGSV is constructed w/ prologue and main game 'TPP'. The game play demo I presented today is the opening of 'TPP' which is tutorial that starts from crawling."

Pretty sure it'll be at the start of MGS5 like the Tanker and Virtuous Mission. Snake goes out on mission, Mother Base gets attacked while he's away.

If that's Ocelot, he got old QUICK! How long is this supposed to take place after MGS3?

EDIT: Nevermind. 9 years. Still, he shouldn't be looking that old.

Wasn't it 3...then an additional 9? He doesn't appear all that old...Not too many wrinkles...His hair is just white.

He'd be roughly 32 I think.

6 minute gameplay footage from the event.

VIDEO-CLick to Watch!:

And yeah Ocelot doesn't look that old to me there. Maybe ten or so years older than he was in MGS3.

Well, Ocelot was blonde before he went gray. So, could just be the lighting that makes it seem white.

And I don't think they're being clear on anything, really. I think we had an idea of how long after Peace Walker that Ground Zeroes would take place...I think PW was like 10 years after MGS3, so add on whatever time passed between PW and then I guess we need to add another 9 with the coma.

So, wouldn't it be like somewhere in the ballpark of like 20 or 25 years after MGS3?

Ocelot was born in 1944 during the invasion of Normandy, so he's 20 in 1964/ Snake Eater. Peace Walker was set ten years after that so he'd be 30, I'm unsure when exactly the Ground Zeroes prologue takes place though it seems not too long after Peace Walker due to Chico and Paz's presence, though Chico seems a little older so we'll say a rough year. Big Boss gets put in a coma for 9 years, so that'd put Ocelot in his early 40s.

Yeah, that makes sense to me.

In that case, Ocelot is looking well for his age.

Meaning he'd be around 45 or something. I can see it. The thin hair and fair skin would also make him look slightly older than someone with a darker complexion at that age too.
