I really don't know who would be the best pick for DD, but someone mentioned Joel Edgerton some while ago. That's something I could live with.

Sure I could live with it too. But i don't think he's the best choice at all

I would have suggested Guy Pearce, but that's not going to happen now, pity.

I'd say Guy Piece would do Matt good.

Have Touchstone do this since they do hard PG-13 and R rated movies for Buenva Vista or Hollywood Pictures plus include Mr. Hyde in it as the bad guy.

At the end of the movie, Punisher should appear telling him about a special team as he knows Matt's identity and Matt responds "Is it the Avengers?" then Frank says "Nope! it's something more meatier, it's called The Knights". And have a new line of Marvel Knights movies to have a crossover movie.

I'd be pretty happy that one of my faves helped lead the pack to the television frontier.

Interesting thought! I googled a list of some of the series mentioned in this thread (BB, Justified, GoT, The Americans, etc.), and stumbled across a "13 Simple Rules" kinda article from New York Magazine that uses those shows to build a framework for a good TV drama. It's a pretty good read. I'm a newbie, so please excuse me if I screw up the link (and anything else).

http://nymag.com/arts/tv/upfronts/2013/drama-writers/

Long story short follows:
Rule 1: Start with an anti-hero.
A. Make him middle-aged.
B. Give him a health problem and a traumatic memory.
C. Make him great at his job.
D. Make his business a microcosm of the American Dream.
E. Give him a secret.
F. Make him a woman.

Rule 2: Give him a family.
Rule 3: Set your show at the end of an era.
Rule 4: Give the hero a mentor or a protégé.
Rule 5: Add a nemesis with problems of his own.
Rule 6: Then write a bottle episode.
Rule 7: Put a drug at the center.
Rule 8: Sex.
Rule 9: Parcel out the violence.
Rule 10:
Every serious drama pilot must have at least two of these things:
A. A health scare.
B. A corpse disposal.
C. A party scene.
D. A huge explosion.
E. A demonstration of our hero’s superpower.

Rule 11: Hit the books.
Rule 12: Let nobody be safe.
Rule 13: Don’t forget the comedy.

Daredevil would seem to me to meet most of their "rules".

I personally think DD would work better as a TV show than another movie.

I hope he gets a well-done reboot. I am not too well-versed in his history however, was he ever in the Avengers?

the answer is yes.....i posted this in another thread...

"Netflix and Marvel recently unveiled their plans to create a number of 13-episode series’ featuring Daredevil, Iron Fist, Jessica Jones and Luke Cage, culminating in The Defenders. The question now is which actors will be chosen to portray these iconic characters; will they go for young unknowns – similar to Stephen Amell in Arrow – or will Nexflix bring big names to these as they’ve done with shows like House of Cards and Orange is the New Black? We don’t know at this point, but here are five casting suggestions featuring actors you will without a doubt recognise, for Daredevil! Stay tuned as we’ll be bringing you similar lists for the other heroes listed above in the coming days too."

I'll throw Michael C Hall as Matt into the mix. Make it happen. It would make for a Great transition from dexter.

But what is Michael C Hall like to deliver speeches (ie opening and closing arguments), and seem like a convincing lawyer? Does he come across as eloquent and intelligent enough? I haven't really watched Dexter.

Also, could he make the jump from small screen to big screen?

Michael C. Hall comes across as a very intelligent guy who can be VERY persuasive. Heck, his role as Dexter required him to be a master manipulator.

Michael C. Hall great actor but wrong for DD imo. I don't know who's right for the role but I'm sure it's not him.

DD needs a movie-calibre actor who will commit to a Netflix series.

The writing on this show will have to be first class. There are some episodes which will probably focus entirely on a law case, and it should be riveting enough to watch for that in itself without expecting some super heroics.

I see DD like JAG where some episodes could be purely in the court room and others purely in the field. They were able to switch from one format to another which was able to keep it interesting.

I think a tone similar to Law & Order would be fine for the show.

I'd like MCH or Patrick Wilson.

That would be interesting. Matt is a good looking bloke after all.

I would how they will handle the gymnastics part. Maybe he will be less of a gymnast and more of a hand to hand guy.

Really? I haven't read all too many issues but isn't his gymnastics/acrobatics kinda a big deal about him? I for one would like if they get someone who has at least some background in it.

Yeah, the acrobatics are a very big deal when it comes to Daredevil.

That would be the wrong way to go. He needs to be excellent in acrobatics and combat. Never one or the other.

I hope the actor chosen is somewhat proficient in those areas so we can get some good action both in and out of the DD suit.

A stunt man can do some of the gymnastics. What's most important is the actor that he can hold his own in the drama, courtroom and combat scenes. You don't want a gymnast/ athlete who wouldn't know his way around a brief.

That would be very cool to see Matt being acrobatic in normal clothing.

I agree, but I do believe the actor should be able to do at least some basic stuff so it's not just DD who does the action.
I guess though that once they find their man he would be able to learn some stuff to make it believable, just like Amell did for Arrow.

Yes, I mean when he's training he can't be wearing his costume all the time right? And also if they go into his origin it would make even more sense to see Matt do some crazy stuff and not just DD.

Curious how they'll shake up his origin. A barrel of radioactive waste seems a little passé these days but you never know!

Chemical explosion maybe. Also, Elektra better show up, I really want to see a proper version of her this time. As much as I liked the DD Director's Cut (it was awesome), Elektra just wasn't done well in that film.

I actually would kind of like it if they have the accident *only* cause his blindness. His sharpening senses come first from natural acclimation, and later from exotic training by Stick.
