The new trailer is good, this is really a good year for comic book movie fans. It is my favorite genre of movies, no doubt. Well I guess Sci-Fi - Action - Thrillers to be more precise.

Marvel used to be a joke when it came to films; now it's undeniably the leader until WB/DC can develop their own set of franchises. It's kind of sad they haven't gotten their stuff together besides Batman movies.

Actually Warner Brother has or had more potential for success especially with the Justice League. Justice League was way popular than the Avengers. But WB just cannot figure out what to do with the Justice League and their other superhero properties like Wonder Woman, Flash and that Green Lantern movie was terrible!

If they can ever get a Justice League movie off the ground, then I could see them challenging or even leapfrogging Marvel. But until then, WB is only hoping MoS can begin kickstart something like the MCU.

Is 'tv show vibe' the new 'not cinematic enough'?

Those who were saying Avengers wasnt cinematic enough were obviously blind.

But yes I can see a tv show vibe in the trailer that annoys me.Hopefully its just the way the trailer is cut.

I'm on the bandwagon of not comparing trailers.
If you look at what the scale of this Thor movie and all they are trying
to accomplish in one movie... You can only get extremely giddy about it.

If they can balance in the inter-planetary warfare with the at least
3 very personal conflicts in this movie it will be a classic.

So far we have the promise of a very engaging plot and plenty of action on a major scale.

This trailer didn't grip me as much as the first IM3 trailer. Not saying it was bad, it was just somewhat disappointing in comparison. Absolutely no money shots at all. Hope the actual movie won't end up feeling like that. Maybe they're just playing it close to the vest for now.

In terms of Iron Man 3, I believe it was the second trailer - the one that began with Stark's monologue-that pushed my hype into overdrive. The teaser for TDW really packed a punch:

we see:

-Jane going to Asgard
-Romantic tension between Thor, Sif & Jane
-(Possibly) Malekith invading Earth
-Excerpt from the terrific-looking battle.
-Eccleston!
-Red Dragon homage
-And Hopkins' fine opening narration.

In comparison, MOS did not invoke the excitement: in terms of the camerawork, backgrounds, and dialogue, it reminds me of Superman Returns mixed with Into the Wild. Make no mistake: Into the Wild is one of my favorite films, and I appreciate the vibe. Thus, the part of my film brain that gets triggered is the thoughtful, introspective kind, while for TDW, the blockbuster section goes into overdrive.

As an avid reader of the comics, I am excited that they are tapping into Simonson's run (this past break, I collected almost all of the issues from the Balder the Brave miniseries. Still missing an issue; cannot remember the number of it.)

For me, IM3 hooked me on the first trailer and reeled me in with the second. I'm still swimming around looking for bait with Thor after the first trailer.

I think you even forgot one of the biggest things the trailer showed, which is that there will be a new dynamic between Thor and Loki compared to past movies. At least for me that relationship is one of the strongest parts of those comics.

True.
Especially the line highlighting Thor's desperation.

I'm all for constructive criticism, but where does this "it looks like a TV show" crap start? I remember people trolling Avengers with that kind of crap. It's like Joss Whedon and Alan Taylor are television directors, therefore everything they do looks like television. What a load of crap.

Until someone actually explains that criticism in at least some detail I'll just treat it as weak attempts at trolling.

Whoever wrote it, it sounds lame to me. I said the same thing in TASM last year in Uncle Ben's speech to Peter, which also was pulled right out of Ultimate Spider-man. To say the line is awkward, is being kind.

That was just one example, but as someone already mentioned, Zod screaming as if that's good acting. It just doesn't work. Visually I don't have any complaints.

My general feeling is the same feeling and complain I had of TASM, some wonderful work in what is just a rehash of someone else's work.
