I know there is a thread for this already over for the multiplat area but I thought some people wouldn't notice some how so I made this since it's for the Wii U and the other system are done with it.

Deus Ex: Human Revolution’s Wii U Changes Are Based On Player Feedback. April 2, 2013 . 10:30am

According to Emile Pedneault, a game designer for the upcoming release, the Director’s Cut is the definite vision of Deus Ex: Human Revolution.

Quote:
In fact, according to Emile Pedneault, a game designer for the upcoming release, the Director’s Cut is the definite vision of Deus Ex: Human Revolution. First thing’s first: it’s the full game, along with the Missing Link DLC, seamlessly integrated. In the original, there’s a span of time that’s fast-forwarded, about three days that’s missing. The DLC, which was released afterwards, filled in the blanks. Well, now those missing days are simply inserted in the empty spot.

There’s also new features that take advantage of the Wii U’s GamePad; called Smart Vision by Pedneault, you can hold the controller up to you TV screen, to catch wind of brand new information as it pertains to characters and other on screen elements. You can also take a screen cap of a particular scene, put down annotations, like insight as to how to solve a particular puzzle, and then share it with others via Miiverse.

The game also packs in an entire strategy guide, which can be easily referenced on the fly, via the GamePad’s screen. And on that note, to make the experience a tad bit easier to those new the series, the easy and normal difficulties have a second energy cell. Plus you can play the whole thing on the GamePad entirely if you’d wish. Though for returning players, there’s director’s commentary; a voice over will kick in, if the option is chosen, at specific parts. There’s eight hours in total I was told.

But everything described above enough to draw old players back in? It’s perhaps worth mentioning the graphics. It was explained that the visuals are the strongest yet, mostly due to the improved lighting. Apparently, the aforementioned DLC had improved visuals, over the original game, and its algorithms were simply applied to the game as a whole. But even still, is all that enough?

Quote:

There is one more key detail: the boss fights have been completely redone. "We listen to feedback, 80% of everything that is new in the Wii U version is based upon what players had to say, and we know that the boss fights got the biggest criticism," explained Pedneault. Every boss fight has been recreated from scratch.

Not necessarily the bosses themselves, but the environment that surrounds them. The biggest issue was how the main game allowed one to tackle challenges as they pleased, which includes being a hacker the entire time. Not a single bullet needed to be shot… until a boss showed up. Then you had to pull the trigger, whether that was your preferred method of problem solving or not.

Apparently, that’s no longer the case. The one face off that Pedneault demonstrated featured a much larger layout. "Those who are into path finding and hacking will be rewarded" he added. So yes, you can defeat bosses with just pure hacking skills alone.

Quote:
and in addition to the Smart Vision mode, which surely will not be everyone’s cup of tea, the Wii U’s controller also sports an improved radar, which is a hybrid of the regular map and the radar that previously only showed the enemy’s location.

Deus Ex: Human Revolution Director's Cut coming in under $60

Deus Ex: Human Revolution: Director's Cut will cost less than $60, Square Enix PR Manager Ryan Arbogast told Joystiq during Gamescom 2013.

"We haven't announced prices, but it won't be a full launch price," Arbogast said. "It won't be $60."

This jives with the launch prices listed on Amazon, Best Buy and Gamestop – $50 for Wii U versions and $30 for Xbox 360 and PS3. Arbogast mentioned that Director's Cut would launch this year. The remixed revamp uses dual-screen mechanics, with an updated map showing building layouts on the second screen, along with expanded level design during boss fights, a developer commentary track and fresh features such as new-game plus and grenade throwback. On Wii U, the second screen is the GamePad, while on Xbox 360 it's Smartglass and on PS4 it's the Vita. Continue Reading

It's going to be $20 more than the other versions, if you didn't know.

Upgrade Deus Ex: Human Revolution to Director's Cut for cheap on Steam

7

Square Enix's upcoming augmentation, Deus Ex: Human Revolution Director's Cut, will include all three DLC packs for the base game and be cheaper if you own the original release on Steam.

For those that already own Deus Ex:HR and its Missing Link DLC, $4.99 will net you a download for the Director's Cut. Fans that own only the base game will need to pay $9.99, while newcomers will pay $19.99.

Director's Cut will offer developer commentaries and a New Game+ mode that carries over upgrades from past playthroughs. Director's Cut will hack into Steam's database on October 22 in North America and October 25 in PAL territories. If you prefer to stick with consoles, October 22 will also see the launch of Director's Cut on the Xbox 360 and PS3 for $30 and on the Wii U for $50.

You know, not to keep harping, but I probably would've snaged this for $30 like the other versions. Maybe it's best, though. I'm still playing Pokemon and Wonderful 101, might be best to wait for a Black Friday or later sale.

Default Re: Deus Ex: Human Revolution For Wii U

It's cause it was never released on the wii and it's the Wii U first time with it. and they went and built this specifically for the Wii u from the ground up, so unlike the others(ps3 and xbox) which this is just a do over and a better port it'll cost the usual close 60$ like similar to 60$ or in this case 50 $. It's a shame .

I think they should offer it at the same price as the other systems, but it seem's cause square as the publisher and the people that price things thinks since their dev's went to the trouble of doing more extra work for the Wii U,(added to other system) that's their thought process on the cost it should cost more due to it cause of that work that was done. In a way it somewhat fair since they did do the work, thus should be paid for it. .

If they had to do more work for instead of a simple port(now you how the people that to do ports think) of the old game it'll cost more for you. And the vicious cycle starts of the fan's seeing this saying they'll buy that for the system later when it's lower or not at all and then the wrong message is received. And the publisher blames it on the wrong thing's it's the sales at release that matter to them.
