Maybe the Braves should focus on not giving other teams a ball to hit out of the park instead of how long they stand there to admire it. The Braves need to get over themselves. How McCann didn't get ejected is beyond baffling.

It's still high but the Yankees have been trying to get under the luxury tax for the past few years.

Now that it's being said that Cano wants $305 million over the next 10 years, we'll see if they are willing to stick with that.

I do see someone doing that. Even after A-Rod (Contract until he's 42) and Pujols (Contract until he's 41) and their injuries, teams will still dump money on Cano for 10 years seeing as he would be 41.

I wouldnt offer Cano a 10 year deal for over $225 million.

He is crazy if he is asking for that...He isn't Cabrera or Trout and honestly the way Cano is playing this game he isn't worth insane amounts of money.

And after the contracts given to Hamilton and even Pujols year...Teams will be hesitant to throw those kinds of numbers...Cano is 30

I wouldn't give him more than a 5-6yr deal. If they want to give him max money that's fine but no more of these ridiculously long contracts.

Cano is a good player but he's not worth close to that type of money, maybe if he was age 24 and that's still a maybe.

Its gonna come down cause I can't see any teams paying that.

Cano knows the Yankees need him. That's why he's asking for so much.

So? He had beef with Maholm and he wasn't being subtle about it.

to each his own...

If he had such a beef, man up when you think you got pegged on purpose... don't wait 2 and a half months lol.

That was disrespectful to the game of baseball in general. Not that the braves reaction wasn't embarrassing, but any team in baseball would respond the same. or would peg the next batter and have the benches clear that way... either way

Please, the Braves need to get off their high horse. Again, it's ****ing ridiculous McCann stayed in the game.

Yankees needs more than him to remain competitive and the only reason they would try to keep him at such a price is their pride. He'll produce for a couple of years before he starts to decline.

I'm not sure if Cano still had Boras representing him would he start out this high. What he has accomplished does not come close to what A-Rod or Pujols did when they got their 10 year deals.

I'll agree with ya there... Freeman should not have been tossed, McCann and Reed Johnson especially should have been.

That was an incredible moment when Pettitte and Jeter came out and took Mo out of the game. Other fans probably don't give a crap but for me it was a huge deal.

I really started regularly following the Yankees (and baseball in general) when I was 11/12yrs old in 1990. I watched a few years of the crappy teams until they started finding success again in 95 but watched as guys like Bernie Williams, Pettitte, Posada and Jeter came up through the ranks. To see all of them pretty much gone now, it's like a part of my youth disappear. It's saddening.

The thing is, if the Yankees say they're not gonna pay that kind of money to him(I'm sure they will though) then they risk Cano testing the free agent market. The last thing they need is for one of their best hitters leaving. A-Rod might not play next season. The Yankees need a big bat on their shoulders. This was a smart move by Cano.

I hope this years playoffs will be as great as last years. I thought last years was the best postseasons we have had in any sport in a while. Go Pirates!

I think it's going to be one heck of a playoff if you ask me.

Go A's winners of the AL West!

I think people are sleeping on the A's. I think they have a real shot at winning it all.

Amen to that. They're playing incredible. Just today we beat the Mariners 9-0.

I don't want to jinx anything so I'll hold myself from making predictions but I really do think we can go very far into the playoffs.

Hoping for some Dodger magic this Fall!

And thankfully Atlanta doesn't have a pool in their stadium.

Just a thought, is anyone else tired of baseball celebrations for just making the playoffs?

Celebrate when you actually win something, like I don't know, a World Series or something.

Depends on the team. I can understand folks like the Pirates or Indians doing it but when I see the Braves or Yankees celebrating with champagne it's kinda stupid.

No I don't mind it at all. It's a long grueling season, I'd want to celebrate. Also I think the A's have a great shot at winning
