On a side-note even though I'm hoping for the best with Shannon's performance, and expect it to be awesome, I hope it doesn't overshadow Cavill's performance. I still want this to be Henry's film.

Bad FX???

Honestly, I've only seen one single little image that made me think of obvious CG. And that is the split-second shot in the 3'rd trailer where superman is flying straight up in to the beam. Clearly a CG face there. Yet it's not half as bad as what was seen in SR! But this little image is my ONLY tiny complaint. And even that one will most likely go down much better in the actual films full context. Usually does. But overall, the FX looks damn amazing!

^ I agree. I haven't seen a problem with the CG yet. Considering the $175m budget, I'm sure it was spent wisely on FX.

My biggest fear is that Zod will be out of the picture by the middle of the movie ...I know it's unfounded but I'm a bit paranoid.

But the effects shown are better than some parts of The Avengers, Iron Man 3, Pacific Rim and The Hobbit. Maybe a bit worse than the TDK trilogy, which used CG sparsely and effectively. But there is still some time to keep tweaking the footage, AND it has the most convincing flying scenes I have ever seen. The combination of full CG for distance and practical for close-ups hearkens back to the days of Jurassic Park

Superman flying into the beam, and the body mechanics of Superman throwing the punches to end the trailer look VERY cartoony and obviously bad and/or un-finished CGI. Hopefully the latter being the case.

I'm talking Spider-Man, Superman Returns, Spider-Man 3, Incredible Hulk, Avenger's Chitari CGI level bad ... hopefully it's been tweaked to look better by the time the movie releases. But I only thought those very specific scenes in the trailer looked really bad, so there is plenty of time to correct stuff.

Sorry for replying to a BATMAN related post in THIS thread. It's relevant conversation given the production and direction staff behind the films. Wasn't trying to derail the thread, either. I guess free-flowing, even if relevant conversation is frowned upon here. I apologize. Thanks for being an excellent mod and deleting the irrelevant post.

..That Superman kills his opponents in MOS. It's probably unfounded.

I doubt he kills anyone intentionally after driving home "decide what kind of man you want to be" upbringing. I think he may get angry enough to almost kill Zod and then have one of those "what am I becoming?" moments and then back away. But I'm perfectly fine with Superman killing, so long as it's done in a no other choice fashion. It just depends on how it's carried out.

I don't believe it, although it is my worst fear now if it does end up being true

Was worried about it back in the days when we didn't know much, but i'd been lulled into a sense of security that it wasn't going to happen just by feeling like they get it with all these great interviews and stuff...

... I really hope it doesn't happen

In the recent Cavill interview, he talks about pulling his Superman from the source material of the comic-books and how he can't WAIT for this movie to hit the mass's. He also said it's an ultimate symbol of hope to beat the odds against evil and how little kids envisioning themselves to be Superman.

Though the possibility is overwhelmingly high within this discussion, it's STILL hard to believe the relation between kids wanting to be Supes and overall killing in a gruesome way. Like I said, it's getting HAWT and I LOVE IT....

I look at it this way. People are going to die. Think about it, there are superhuman beings devastating the city. There are bound to be casualties. If Zod and co die at his hands trying to protect innocent people, then that is something that we just have to live with. If he kills out of cold blood or for revenge, then that is a whole other deal.

I have a feeling he's going to try to avoid any killing, even when it comes to his enemies.

Watched the interview with Shannon? I think or Cavill..I forgot haha.
The interviewer mentions that "we spend a good time of the movie on Krypton". I'm just saying, hopefully not TOO long. But a perfect amount can be good.

The longer the movie is on Krypton, I will be happy...

I'm glad there's going to be a lot of action in this movie but I hope it doesn't overshadow character development. One twitter reaction said MOS was like watching a video game with really good CGI. I don't want to have a similar feeling.

Clark will most likely have more character development in this film than in Superman I with its 12 years-in-the-Fortress "training" (programming lol) and time skip.

I fear audiences and critics won't accept change, blinded by nostalgia.

My worst fear is that the entire movie isn't completely raped with product placement at every point and turn.

It's got so bad in my opinion it ruined the last bond movie. Was pretty dismayed to see in the trailer a new Nokia that they've even shoved a giant logo onto (because the actual phone only has a small one) - not only that but the front glows so everyone can see what make it is.

Of course I understand it's crucial for funding purposes etc, but I just feel in the last decade or so it has rocketed up in frequency.

Still can't forgive that scene in Casino Royale (bond is a persistent offender):

Hot Girl: "That's a very sexy watch, is it a Rolex?
Bond: "No it's an OMEGA actually."

Vom.

That was also one of the many problems with Spider-Man 3
